  1. The first of my posts was clearly responding to not only your post about JSP, but Chuck's post about JSP, which basically came down to JSP might as well download/remaster and release it themselves. The 2nd of my posts was in response to Chuck asking for a clarification of what I meant with regards to my rules on downloading.
  2. Have no idea what this even means.
  3. I never download anything from a living musician, or covered by the US. copyrights (which are much longer than European).....if it's something completely out of print that there is only way to get it that won't effect anyone financially...if I can upgrade from a bootleg that I downloaded that would lead official release that can lead to a musician's estate benefiting....I will buy it....which is why I started the thread
  4. Or borrow one from a library. FTW! As in, I will just wait until it's uploaded. I have very strict rules.
  5. Isuzu Yamada (As in, Asjai/Lady Macbeth) in my favorite filmed version of Macbeth....as in, Throne of Bloods. Toshiro Mifune (As in, Taketoki Washizu/Macbeth) Akira Kurosawa
  6. More melodrama. It's now my fault that most everyone said basically the same thing about his attacking of Aloc?...and long before I even noticed, or even posted in this thread. P.S. Just for the record. What he did....is actually what is considered trolling. Just what was this thread supposed to be about? Just whose posts lead to everything that happened afterwards?

    Try Downtown Music Gallery.
  8. Just checked the site. The upcoming Kazuki Tomokawa boxset looks interesting. P.S. I don't know if you're into Kaoru Abe, but anything with him....especially solo.
  9. Yes, and no problems. Though, I also haven't ordered anything from them this year.
  10. I don't know who Hans is, but I agree with this sentiment whole-heartedly. He's the guy who turned a thread about Chris being in a documentary into a thread about him and Aloc....all the while proclaiming he's innocent of what most everyone thinks he meant, but are now twisting what he meant (wink, wink) to what he didn't mean (wink wink). Ironically, he also proclaimed he was leaving the board....if you're going to do that.....might as well do it in a thread that was meant to be about Chris....but still posts....and apparently doesn't have me on ignore. The melodrama! There will be a pop quiz on this.

Sad to read about psi. Will Emanem still continue?
  12. Congratulations!
  13. Here is a post everyone took to meant one of two people....and took to be personally attacking that person. Then there is this. How about this. Well, one more time - I don't see any personal attacks, just criticism of Aloc's overwhelming number of threads and the contents of many. Again, you only read my posts the way you want to read them, not what they actually say. And if you're wondering whom sonnymax meant in his post, just ask him. I won't respond to your posts anymore, they're not worth my time. The person who was personally attacking him doesn't see that he's personally attacking him. I think you mean most everyone read your posts the same way I did. Amazingly, yes....I actually would have had to ask sonnymax whom he meant. Most no one needed to do that with you. Allen isn't one of my fans....but he took your posts exactly the same way. Most everyone took your posts the exact same way....to the point that you were the only one that needed to start your backpedaling post. Tell me again....just why you do think you need to tell me something for the second time I didn't care about the first time? Talk about melodramatic. Amen. Yeah, I am beating a dead horse....and I am sorry, but not deleting a single thing I posted.
  14. Here is is sonnymax's post which was very general and could have meant anyone. Here is a post most everyone took to mean one of two people....and took to be personally attacking that person. Then there is this. How about this. etc....but there wasn't anything at all personal about any of your posts? P.S. Just why do you think you need to inform me you're putting me on ignore? You actually think I care?
  15. Closing of Winterland is one of the few post 74 I have. It breaks most of what everyone thinks went South with the Dead.....yet, there is one of the rare post-1974 Dark Star performances.
  16. Yet, most everyone that read your comments seems to think it was an attack of him personally, or whomever SD thought they were about (I am betting like me when I initially read your posts....he thought you meant me)....I still think it's how everyone took your posts about Aloc meant....but you're reading the signs that you put your foot in your mouth and are backpedaling. The horror that he posts things you deem unsuitable for this place. I think you among many others post a bunch of things that don't belong here. I know many including you think there are things I post that don't belong on this board. Since he's not breaking any of the many rules (some of which I made clear many times (I beat a dead horse about it) are absurd) for this B.B....In the end it really is up to Jim A to decide.
  17. Sorry, this is what happens when posting by phone and on the run. I meant yes, or no on should I buy it since it doesn't fall under my unscientific theory about Dark Star? Investigate whether or not you enjoy "The Other One." If you do then you may not need "Dark Star." Really, I know this sounds scandalous or absurd, but it's quite possible. This works for years '69 thru '74 to some extent, although some nights you got both or you might not get either one. Some nights there was a Truckin> and other stuff instead of Dark Star or The Other One. For some it's not about any of these songs but whether they get (Morning) Dew'd. Not to mention the massive Playing In The Bands you'd get from '72-'74 which might have been the greatest thing they ever did, were it not for the beauty of "Bird Song" (fall '72 on) or the purdy (full) "Weather Report Suites" in '73-'74. I'm leaving stuff out too (Pigpen favs, Help>Slip>Frank, and so on) to keep this semi-brief. Think of '77 (or at least May) as sunnier and not necessitating Dark Stars, though I reckon they would have been nice had they tried. And while I'm certainly a Dark Star admirer (to put it mildly), it was not a requirement for a great show. @ Quincy: What you're saying falls under the other part of my unscientific theory. Certain years, tours and Pigpen. I know they rarely played Dark Star after 1974...which explains how little I have after that. @ mjzee - No marshmallows and inhibited their creative flow for me. As in, you basically posted me out of buying it.
  18. I agree with Allen about all the amazing knowledge Chris has and shares....but I also agree with Jim A about all the melodramatic stuff. In my 3-years of lurking/posting....I think he quit like 50 times over the slightest of things. Okay, that's an exaggeration....but....if you're going to quit....just quit already. To answer your question....I think (I could be wrong....it's hard to keep track with him) the latest quitting (and most likely not last) was a result of his posts about Lois in the JC is closing thread.
  19. I don't see any problem with Aloc's posts/threads. I check those that are of interest and those that are not...amazingly I don't. I rather have his threads than the 10,000 remastering/engineer fetish threads/posts. I heard they're remastering Kind of Blue again....now it get's streamed directly into your brain. Engineer XYZ really pulled out all the gizmos and used every knob on the board.
  20. Sorry, this is what happens when posting by phone and on the run. I meant yes, or no on should I buy it since it doesn't fall under my unscientific theory about Dark Star?
  21. There is a whole love/hate thing with the Dead in the family. My younger sister for example thinks they might as well call most every song I, IV, V. I happen to like them.....@ least on nights they're performing Dark Star. It's not scientific...but I think there best live performances occur on days they perform Dark Star. I know there are certain years, tours, add in Pigpen. May 1977. There isn't a single Dark Star. Yes, or no?
  22. Just think of all the missed opportunities of posting, or starting threads about the latest remastering/engineer fetish....
