  1. The last Mosaic Single Ruby Braff 'Hi-Fi salute to Bunny' is now OOP. Just as with 'Selects (3 CD sets)' you can still click on 'Mosaic Singles' under Categories but you reach an empty page.
  2. Strange because this was IIRC the only set they owned outright and would be available as long as Mosaic would excist.
  3. Great transfers indeed. This music lost nothing of its freshness the last 90 odd years imo.
  4. Good to hear it is coming. Even if we have to wait a few more months. Realy looking forward to this set.
  5. The Savoy be bop sessions made a return to last chance. So if you missed out here’s chance. Probably not many copies.
  6. Only 3.000 copies but it must still be one of the fastest selling sets from Mosaic.
  7. Brian Rust Jazz records is no longer in print.
  8. There is a third volume a single LP with The Ellington orchestra with various singers: Rosemary Clooney, Ozzie Bailey, Jimmy Grissom, Lil Greenwood, Johnny Ray and Milt Grayson. The Rosemary Clooney sides are added to the Blue Rose CD. Pomegranate is on the Jazz Track CD of 'A Drum is a woman'. The rest remain unreissued on CD.
  9. The death of Kenny Rogers the country singer (81) is now confirmed on the NOS (dutch public broadcaster) site. Also on the site of the Guardian newspaper.
  10. Because some vendors might still have stock I write OOP. Meaning that Mosaic does not list it any longer.
  11. The recording in the NCY library can be heard here: https://www.wnyc.org/story/204512-america-in-swingtime-benny-goodman-sextet/ For the recordings at Rutgers you have to go there. They have: Opus local 802 (16-9-39), Stardust (30-9-39), Flying home (10-12-40), Wholly cats (25-12-40), Moppin'it up/A smooth one (1-5-41). This site has the most Charlie Christian info: http://www.soloflight.cc/
  12. The Louis Armstrong Decca set is now OOP.
  13. So am I. There is enough Goodman in the Savory collection for a Mosaic set. But if they would concentrate on the Sextet they might want to look to the 5 tracks held by the Rutgers collection and the Swingtime in springtime broadcast in the NY public library collection. Just dreaming out Loud.
  14. I had It with my Mildred Bailey set. Mosaic were able to replace it. This was years ago. I don’t remember wether I asked fO r just one box and payed for the postage or asked them to sent it with an other set. The way things are today I wouldn’t ask Mosaic to sent me a replacement Box unless it could be with an other set.
  15. Louis Armstrong JSP hot 5/hot 7 set disc 3. Had not listend to This in years. This music still baffels me in A positive way.
  16. Louis Armstrong 1935-1946 Decca set is now on last chance
  17. Woody arrived today and no customs charges. Now playing Disc II Perdido with Ray Nance, Johnny Hodges and Juan Tizol guesting.
  18. Just finished disc I Woody Herman 1943-1954. Nice arrangements. I allways have to revise my opinion on Woody's clarinet playing. It's Always better than I remember. But not on par with Goodman or Shaw. Ben Webster's solos are great but to short. Best track: Crying sands.
  19. I splashed out and bought the 200 CD 'Mozart The New Complete edition' After some youth works and a lot of Variations this morning CD5 with piano sonata K332 by Brendel and now CD 6 with piano sonata's K330, K333 played by Bredel and k331 by Piemontesi truly delightful.
  20. Just got an email from Mosaic that the Mobley and Herman sets will ship in 3 to 4 weeks.
  21. Just got an email from Mosaic saying that the Mobley and Herman sets will ship in 3 to 4 weeks.
  22. Don’t forget the August, 25 1966 session on wich Canal street blues and Cabaret were recorded.
