The Savoy and Bee Hive sets are last chance again. Probably for a short time.

The Ahmad Jamal set is oop again.

I was thinking of a Count Basie Lester Young 1939-1940 set including all tracks Lester doesn’t solo on.

This set is now expected in August

Mingus hit Jimmy Knepper in the face. He lost teeth because of that and could’nt play for a considerable time. Knepper sued Mingus who said in his defence that it was part of his act. I don’t remember what the outcome of the case was. It is in Brian Priestley’s Mingus biography.

Today Ajax won the Dutch FA cup. Beating Willem II 4-0. No time to celibrate. Wednesday they got to beat Tottenham for a place in the Champions League final.

Tottenham Hotspur - Ajax 0-1. Not a brillant match but a win is beter than a loss. Ajax has a busy agenda for the rest of the season. Sunday Dutch FA cup final vs. Willem II. Wednesday the return against Tottenham. Then 2 more league games (May 12th and 15th) for the champiionchip no mistakes allowed. And hopefully CL final June first in Madrid.

The set just arrived. No customs charge. Declared value $15 😀. But more important. The number on the book is 1673 of 5000. This is incredible low taking into account that it is from the last repressing batch. So 2000 maximum for the upcomming Woody Herman set may prove to be just right.

Yesterday at the Dr jazz meeting a Wageningen (NL) I bought the Flip Philips Charlie Ventura Verve set for €60,-. I was not on the hunt for this but was on my nice to have list. The Nat King Cole set went for €375,-

Just got a shipping notification for the Savoy set. If this means 10 CD’s of academic boredom bring it on. I’m a academic.😀

He would certainly deserve a set. Don Byas would also desreve one but his recordings are spread over too many labels to be possible.

Just got a second e-mail. Responce on earlier mail was so strong the set is now sold out.

For those of us who pre ordered the last pressing of the Savoy set. This will ship next week according to a Mosaic mail I just got.

Just got an e-mail,from Mosaic announcing that the Charles Mingus JWS set is on last chance. The Eddie Condon-Bud Freeman abd DuL set made a come back. But these are mostly short lived.
