  1. I revered to this post.
  2. Just got a shipping notification for the Savoy set. If this means 10 CD’s of academic boredom bring it on. I’m a academic.😀
  3. He would certainly deserve a set. Don Byas would also desreve one but his recordings are spread over too many labels to be possible.
  4. The Eddie Condon/Bud Freeman set is OOP again.
  5. Just got a second e-mail. Responce on earlier mail was so strong the set is now sold out.
  6. For those of us who pre ordered the last pressing of the Savoy set. This will ship next week according to a Mosaic mail I just got.
  7. Just got an e-mail,from Mosaic announcing that the Charles Mingus JWS set is on last chance. The Eddie Condon-Bud Freeman abd DuL set made a come back. But these are mostly short lived.
  8. Real - Ajax 1 - 4. No your eyes do not decieve you. Bigest ever home defeat for Real in CL. What did Mourinho predict? 99% Ajax would not go through.,Always good to have a safety margin.😀
  9. The projeted release date is now June.
  10. It wouln't be bad if Sony did anything with its archives. But it probably means that most of the Okeh, Columbia and Victor etc. won't be available again. Makes you wonder about the upcomming Louids Armstrong Mosaic set with Sony material.
  11. Just announced on the Mosaic upcomming reales Hank Mobley Blue Note 1963-1971 8 CD set. Release date August this year.
  12. The Savoy set can no longer be orderded.
  13. Not searching anything in particular..wouldn’t mind finding the Flip Philps/Charlie Ventura Verve set. Maybe unrelated but I would have loved and bought the Gerry Mulligan sextet lp set as a Select.
  14. Dial modern jazz session disc 1. Realy like the sound on the Red Norvo Session. Will never be a great Erroll Garner fan. This will do fir my collection.
  15. Fred replaced Cindy.
  16. Last chance to order extended to Sunday 27th.
  17. Order period now until Sunday the 20th.
  18. Duke Ellington The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings disc 2 The Afro bossa album. Love this enormously.
  19. The Frémeaux series misses the alternate take of 'I can't give you anything but love' . If you have the JSP box and 2CD set you need the Louis Armstrong Neatwork vol. 1 to be complete. The sound of this missing take is not very good. On the JSP set it is the last track on CD 4. The vocalists session yes I mean the blues singers and Seger Ellis and Jimmie Rodgers. I have the Affinty set. I wouldn't want to miss 'Sunshine baby' Not for the siging but hear Louis and Johnny Dodds play. But I would like to have a set with all of Armstrongs own recordings without having to listen to singers that I am at best not very fond of. And this set does not excist.
  20. Some of the Okehs were first issued on Columbia. The JSP Box misses the later discovered instrumental takes. And the Bigband 2CD set misses the 4 alternate takes. A Mosiaic I would go for would be 8 or 9 CD's. Disc 1-8 with the Okeh/Columbia and Victor sides. If Universal cooperates disc 9 could contain the Brunswick sessions including the 1934 Paris session. Than this set would seamlessly fit before the Decca 1936-1946 set. The vocalist sessions from this period would ad 3 more CD's. Mostly not my cup of tea.
  21. And there is the still available Decca 1935-1946 box. There is no complete edition of Armstrong’s work for Okeh, Columbia and Victor 1925-1933.
