  1. Interesting little tidbit direct from Billy Sherwood today, from the Progressive Ears website (at the end of this thread, which is a Yes year-in-review thing). It sounds like the original intent was for for Squire to be ousted, with Billy Sherwood taking his place as bassist. After some reconciliation or something, Sherwood did some production work for Yes on the Keys to Ascension material, and then became a full fledged band member afterwards. The plan to dump Squire is interesting, though.
  2. ...Happy Birthday, AB! Wish you'd rejoin us - miss your contributions and your artwork both!
  3. I believe so, as well as Al Haig's widow (board name "Grange Lady Haig Rutan"). And I thought someone else's son or daughter, as well...but don't recall who
  4. That's an interesting route. I can see getting from Sonic Youth to Ayler, but it seems like another step would be in there before getting to Bird...at least to me. But then WTF do I know.
  5. Robert Palmer was a witness? The UFO must have found the turbine to be Simply Irresistable.
  6. Happy Birthday Clifford - thanks for your contributions to the board!
  7. I was SO hoping you were referring to Jerry here.
  8. Cowboys cut Pacman Jones today. Supposedly new info has come to light about his involvement in ANOTHER shooting back in the summer of 2007. Apparently the league didn't have the information, nor did the Cowboys when they signed him earlier this year, so I don't think they'll be penalized. Jones may end up out of the league permanently, depending on how this evolves. Either way, he didn't contribute very much to the Cowboys overall on defense or special teams - certainly not like his on-field reputation suggested coming in.
  9. Thanks, I have the original CD issue. I also have all of the Rhino's, though I may eventually replace them with the box. I think it's unusual that it wasn't included in the Rhino series, if for completeness if nothing else - though I realize it's a co-leader date, not a Coltrane album.
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. I think I've asked this before, but don't remember a definitive answer. Is the mastering on the Heavyweight Champion box the same as the Rhino Deluxe editions that followed? I'm curious because the box includes the "Bags & Trane" album, whereas the Rhino deluxe series doesn't. Has "Bags & Trane" ever been reissued separately in remastered form?

  15. You got my vote!!
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. My picks: Indianapolis Baltimore Philadelphia Atlanta edit - picking all road teams!
  18. R.I.P. Freddie, and thanks for the music that you've shared with us.
  19. I'll play in the playoff pool if it gets set up. This was fun, thanks for having me! Even though I either went too conservative or too wild, and never got into a rhythm, it was still a good time!
  20. As Big Al's alluded to, some of us are Cowboy fans in spite of the owner. Probably most that fall in this category have been fans since long before Jerry Jones rode into town on his wildcat. I actually thought they'd lose too, but I thought they'd at least show up and make a respectable showing, since there actually was something still on the line. My guess would have been a 24-17 score or something like that, with a typical Romo interception that sealed their fate. Not like the steaming pile of manure that showed up in Cowboys uniforms.
  21. Same condition as what? Do you have a jazz cd in the player? Don't forget to take it out, unless you want to Pay It Forward.
  22. Happy Late one!
  23. I didn't get my kids until 8:30 pm today, so they unwrapped their gifts late. Going to visit family tomorrow. Just being around my kids is my swag.
