  1. Yes, they did! The Giants D was solid, sacking Romo 3 times, and hitting him many more. The Cowboys sacked Manning 8 times, with Demarcus Ware getting 3 by himself to lead the NFL, with 19. The sack record of 22.5 is within reach for him. The Cowboys held NY to no touchdowns, which has to be a first for them in a long time. And the Cowboys rose above the silliness of the past week and were able to get the win. The Defense is playing at post-season level, hopefully the offense continues to re-gel over the next 2 weeks, and there are no more squabbles. ************ NOW the problem is that the game with the Ravens on Saturday night is on the NFL Network, which I don't get.
  2. Happy Birthday!
  3. I had some of THE best bagels I've ever had in my life, last month in Brooklyn. I don't know if that counts or not, but they were excellent! From some little neighborhood place. Generic loaves of bread you can buy in the supermarket are like generic American beer - Budweiser, Coors, & Miller.
  4. I think it's tiresome for most of the fans, too. I'd like a lot lower profile team, but with this owner, that ain't gonna happen. He thrives on being in the spotlight, more than he does winning.
  5. Dude, you better get on it! Ok ok since you guys have been so nice to me lately (), here's an extra special super code: D8E1 - 3 free discs There are 2 really cool things about this code. 1. It's not a one-time only code, so you can use it to your heart's content. 2. It's good for 2 disc sets (i.e. you can order 3 two-disc sets in one order, for free). Have fun - even you, Ron!!
  6. Agree. I think the Cowboys could beat the Giants this weekend, if they have their heads on straight. And I believe Owens is a more divisive lockerroom cancer than Witten is. I have a hard time Witten is purposely sabotaging anything.
  7. Three of your galleries date from 2006 (?). Is there flooding going on now too? I hope everyone is safe! Edit - I see the other gallery is current. Bad flooding!
  8. Happy BD again, Brandon!
  9. Owens has had a very subpar year by his standards, though he's still got a shot at a 1,000 yard season - he's at 848 yds with 3 game remaining. But there have been a number of reasons I think that he's not done so well - Romo's injury and absence, spaghetti armed Brad Johnson filling in, and some strange play calling by "Red Jesus" or whatever they call Jason Garrett (who seems to have regressed as an OC over the past year). Knowing Owens it's easy to see why he's upset and throwing blame all around. I think Roy Williams has more reason to be uspet since he's been in Dallas, but he's been a model citizen despite being wasted on the field so far.
  10. This is one of the things that I dislike about the NFL. and perhaps this is the fault of the press rather than of the coaches and players. As I see it, football on the pro level is a game of 300-pound men beating on each other for three hours, yet they always act as if the entire game was won or lost because of one play, as if what they have been doing for the rest of the three hours doesn't matter. In general I tend to agree with your point. But in this particular case the game was tied, Dallas had played admirably well on the road in freezing cold weather against the best defense in football, and with a number of key injuries (some playing like Witten, others not, like Felix Jones). Romo's final interception was a fatal play in this game though, as it came with less than 2 minutes remaining in a tied game in which they had the ball and could have gone down and scored to win the game themselves.
  11. Yeah well, I burned my fingers on that burger because it was so damn haute.
  12. What the heck is roux?? I knew a Cajun girl named Roux a while back, everyone called her Frenchy. And Free - you're in Haute Cuisine territory if ya ask me. Me, I'm lucky to remember to flip.
  13. Interesting - according to an interview with Chris Squire on his website, he wants to record a new Yes album next year, with the two replacement players who are currently touring with Squire, Howe, & White - Oliver Wakeman and Benoit David. I wonder if this is the end of Anderson's tenure in Yes. Rick Wakeman's come and gone so much I don't think he'd be as difficult to replace, though reviews of the current tour make it sound as if Oliver W. isn't quite as impressive as some of the other Yes keyboard players in the past.
  14. Going to be 29 degrees tomorrow morning here! You'd think this is Muskegon or something! edit - it snowed in both Houston and San Antonio today, too. Weird stuff!
  15. There's a building not too far from my home here that houses Freddie Records, which is a Tejano label/studio. They've got this great rotating sign (same as below image) out front that always makes me think of Freddie Hubbard though. Get better, Freddie!
  16. Have a great day, David!
  17. Congratulations Daniel! Alot of holiday expenses for me right now, but I hope to order a copy after the new year some time. Good luck with the gigs, too!
  18. Scintillate scintillate asteroid minific, Fain would I ponder thy nature specific, Loftily perched in the ether capacious, Strongly resembling a gem, carbonaceous.
  19. As a fairly recent parent, I've discovered that "Twinkle" has the same changes as those two other end-of-playgroup singalong favourites "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and "Sleeping Bunnies". Don't forget that all time kid's classic, the ABC song. Edit - beat to the draw!
  20. Right there with ya, buddy. Except we dont' have a first round pick this year, thanks to the acquisition of Roy Williams, who they don't really even try to throw to anyway.
