  1. Hey, I enjoy aloc's posts. I think he's obviously very intelligent and pleasantly quirky. BTW, you misspelled "midget". Just trying to help.
  2. A little more info on the new reissue of Exodus: Island plans the 30th Anniversary release of Exodus from Bob Marley and the Wailers, scheduling the album for November 20. This magnificent album that contained “Waiting in Vain,” “Jamming,” and “One Love,” will be available in several forms. The first is the single CD set, while the second, and more preferable package is the DVD-sized Casebound Book that contains the CD and a DVD. The DVD is the 12-performance track Live at the Rainbow set. Originally released in 1977 as Bob Marley was in exile in the UK due to an assassination attempt on his life in Jamaica, this set represents great Marley music. I've already got the 2 disc deluxe edition, so I'm not sure if this appeals to me very much.
  3. Note to Belichek - When you have a 38 point lead with 9 minutes left in the game, it's probably smart to get your starting QB and other skill position starters out of the game. Was that TD really that necessary? If Brady got hurt and lost for the season at this point in the game, it would all be on your shoulders.
  4. Great show last night! The band was "on", and the club was packed (I don't think sold-out, but very close to it - 1000+). They are still emphasizing their more current, heavier material, but they did pull out a few gems that I loved hearing - Dark Matter & Waiting from "Signify", and A Smart Kid from "Stupid Dream". They also played "Drown With Me", which was a song left off of In Absentia (SW said he wasn't sure why it was left off now, in hindsight). Anesthetize was fantastic live, as was Sleep Together. Setlist Fear of a Blank Planet What Happens Now? Sound of Muzak Sentimental Cheating the Polygraph Anesthetize (SW called this "Annie's Thighs...LOL) Open Car Dark Matter Drown with Me A Smart Kid Way Out of Here Sleep Together Encore: Waiting Phase One Blackest Eyes Halo They're in Dallas tonight, Atlanta tomorrow, and then it's off for the European tour. If you have time, check them out - great show!
  5. Happy Birthday Brownie, and thank you for what you bring to this board - it's a better place because of you.
  6. Was our old board buddy Che in attendance? I seem to recall him talking quite a bit about Atzmon a while back.
  7. Aircraft have quite different lifespans from automobiles, so an 18 year old plane shouldn't be cause for concern, in general. Airlines (at least in this country) are very serious about maintaining them on a regular basis after so many flight hours. They also go through regular meticulous inspections from nose to tail. The military still has Vietnam era helicopters in the fleet, and there are B-52s in the Air Force that have been in service since 1955.

Even if the one that looks like Diana Krall gives you a special hug?
  9. Have you tried emailing Amazon UK and explaining what happened? Maybe they have backups to their database or whatever they use, and can recreate your shopping basket.

  13. You're gonna like it or I'll get in my Red Barchetta and run your ass over! (see trash talk post above )
  14. Wow, with Trey Gunn! Could be very interesting!
  15. Post of the week, with or without the pun!
  16. Unfortunately shipping to US is €14, instead of €6. Making even this option not worth switching from Amazon UK, in my case. Thanks for the info though - it's better to consider as many options as possible.
  17. Where did you find that price, Flurin? I checked, and Amazon Germany shows €59,95 for me, plus shipping costs of €14,00. That works out to $105.85 for me. My Amazon UK order totalled £45.62, which equals $93.55. So it's still cheaper.

  19. From Merriam Webster: shyster - a person who is professionally unscrupulous especially in the practice of law or politics I'm guessing "dumpy mama" thinks there may be some racist meaning to the word as well (?).
  20. Get these two for sure: Charles Mingus: Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Charles Mingus: The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady
  21. BTW, why is there an RIP in the thread title?
  22. Happy Birthday Maren
  23. Whoa, somebody pee in your Wheaties this morning? His screen name is/was Alankin. Hans wasn't wrong in correcting your chewy-like name mangling, IMO. And he wasn't rude about it, either.
  24. That Girl (Marlo Thomas) Philip Marlowe Humphrey Bogart
  25. Bought my ticket online last night for the Houston show on Saturday! Anybody else seen PT on the current tour? sidenote - Is Ticketmaster getting worse? The ticket price is $16, yet with all of Ticketmaster's charges, the final price is $28. That's an additional 75% of the ticket price in order processing and "convenience" charges!
