  1. I'm on the case! I have it on good authority that Chuck doesn't like smileys, so I think you're already in trouble, Ron.
  2. I like Senne Sing Song; how does Who's Bridge compare to it?
  3. It doesn't completely overlap, though. The 4th disc is comprised of material that was never before released and isn't available elsewhere. So if your question "Is this everything?" still stands, this box would need to be included.
  4. I think you forgot the Legendary Prestige Quintet Sessions box that came out last year.
  5. Shawn - Hang in there buddy, things will get better! You have alot of folks here on the board that care about you and appreciate your contributions here - I know I do. -Erik
  6. Well, as the article says, the thief may still think you have money at home, and will destroy the place until he finds it. If that's the case, leaving a small token amount in your home for a thief to find may actually prevent alot of damage that might cost $$ or be a major hassle to get repaired/replaced. I haven't done this in the past etiher, as mine's in the bank like you, but it's certainly something to think about.
  7. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Mike!
  8. Very true - I was just repeating Robert's description of the SH Forum from his earlier post.
  9. I've seen threads over there where the subject is band X's new album, and someone posts that they don't like it, and the next comment shows a picture of a dog going to the bathroom. I think your description generally makes more sense than mine though, Claude.
  10. Thread crapping is a term that they use on that "particular engineer's vanity site" for posts in a thread that don't support the comments by the original poster. For some reason, they don't like that over there. Differences of opinion and being able to post them are much more welcome here, it seems. Threads are generally much healthier here (IMO) because we are allowed to express what we want, for the most part.
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Best wishes, Hans!
  13. Happy Birthday to a guy with fine taste in music!!
  14. Happy B-day, Sandy!
  15. If you end up wandering around, I'd HIGHLY recommend a stop at the Anne Frank House. It's something that will stay with you for a long time. You can actually walk through the rooms in which Anne and the others hid from the Nazis, up until her capture. Anne Frank House If you're interested in museums, there are a couple of world class museums in the city. The Rijksmuseum , and the Van Gogh Museum are both good. Or alternately, if Randy's in charge , you can head over to the Heineken Experience, which is a fun, interactive museum in the former Heineken brewery. Finally, the red light district is world famous in itself, and is worth a visit just to say you've seen it. Be careful of the "coffee shops" too! edited to fix bad link
  16. If you're not afraid of heights, you can drive across the highest bridge in the world, at Millau:
  17. Anybody check the mashups that have been posted on youtube? Some are pretty good. Eminem vs. Franki Valli Pussycat Dolls vs. Kool & the Gang Megamix Vol 1
  18. Happy Birthday!!!
  19. I think they had to relocate.
  20. Anyone wanna sell me some of Miles' early records that feature Tony Williams? That rare pressing of Birth of the Cool with Larry Young, Tony and McLaughlin maybe?
  21. Steve Willette apparently didn't participate in that article, other than being mentioned. Is it really cool of you to post his address and phone number here? He may not wish to be contacted by complete strangers.
  22. I've got the TOCJ of the Art Taylor, and it sounds fine to me, so I'm not gonna replace it. Some nice playing by Stan the Man too!
  23. I have never thought of the Police as an improvisatory group at all, nor is their music particularly complex. I have seen them live, back in the day, and it was an enjoyable show, but not complex. And there were no improvisatory parts at all, in my recollection. Groups since 1975 that are capable of group improvisation: The 80's edition (and beyond) of King Crimson The 80's (and beyond) edition of the Allman Brothers Prince Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble Phish Widespread Panic Medeski Martin & Wood most of the other jam bands You could argue about the varying degrees of popularity I suppose. I'm sure there are a number of groups as well.
  24. 14-2 ain't good enough?
