  1. Noticed the following on the BMG website, so expect they'll show up at yourmusic as well: Bill Frisell/Ron Carter/Paul Motian Don Byron - Do the Boomerang Kenny Garrett - Beyond the Wall Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band - Dizzy's Business Stefon Harris - African Tarantella Louis Armstrong - The Great American Songbook Fred Astaire - The Great American Songbook John Coltrane - Gold June Christy - The Intimate Miss Christy
  2. No, he means a ticket consolidator, they're much cheaper. Gotta admit, I know what that is myself. Help? Consolidators purchase discounted tickets/seats on planes from the airlines, in bulk basically. There are a bunch of them on the internet. I just used airlineconsolidator.com, to check for flights from Corpus Christi to Stuttgart for a trip from 27 Jan - 7 Feb, and came up with a total cost of $823 round trip. This is on Delta Airlines. The same trip (actually returning on 6 Feb), via the Delta website, would cost $1671.
  3. So does the security code confirmation thing not prevent these spam bots from registering? I don't think Jim's referring to bots, but actual humans who's only goal in life is to share their spam with you, though I'm thinking more of the street teams pimping the latest Chris Botti release, or whatever.
  4. Could be a good game - the better offense (Indy) vs the better defense (Chicago). If those two forces neutralize each other, it could come down to the Colt's defense and how they handle Thomas Jones & Cedric Benson.
  5. He steals your table, and you're still happy to see him giving the trophy out?
  6. Be warned there is a Quality Beer requirement though. The other members of the Live Chat group reserve the right to allow you entry into the ranks, based upon what you drink. Note for record - Conn was grandfathered in prior to this rule, so disregard what he drinks.

  8. "This is how much talent Eli has....."
  9. I think the best Phil-era Genesis is the Abacab album. Most everything after that got a little cute/poppy for me. Though I think if you look at is as *not* prog but pleasant pop-rock, it's much easier to come to terms with it. I love Gabriel's solo material too, maybe more than the Genesis stuff.
  10. As long as your Mosaic sets aren't stored in there, Oliver....
  11. I hope all of our Yurpean (and Swiss) board members and their families are doing ok after that terrible hurricane. edit - DURING this terrible hurricane!
  12. Like the John Abercrombie/Dan Wall/Adam Nussbaum recordings on ECM? Or Trio Beyond for that matter? I have Shepik's "Drip", which is a nice recording (and includes Rainey as well), and have seen Versace supporting Scofield on his Ray Charles project. And Rainey is good on the Thirsty Ear etc stuff that I've heard him on. Could be a nice group. Shepik was also good on the Dave Douglas Tiny Bell Trio stuff.
  13. What jazz artists have you successfully promoted and achieved contracts with major labels?
  14. Those guys rock!
  15. Man, you'll do anything to stay ahead of me in the post count. That's the goal....I could care less about actual content.
  16. SW loves 5.1, so that's half of it. He's also a perfectionist, and it's OOP, so I'm guessing he thinks he can improve on the sound (which sounds fine to me already). Given that this was the last recording before they signed with Atlantic/Lava, I'm guessing he wants to make it available now to the newer fans.
  17. Why limit our choices in dolphin hues (and music) to what we assume are the only choices? edit - these particular dolphins appear to exist in Asia. I've also seen pink dolphins personally, swimming in the Amazon River (them, not me!) .
