I don't believe a single person on this board except you, the Giants homer and Bonds homer, believes that steroids have no bearing on hitting HR's. Your statement therefore has to be taken into account with your inability to be non-biased as a Bonds fan. From Hugo Rivera, a certified fitness trainer and author of 8 books on bodybuilding (here): "Steroids do increase size and strength. In fact, they do so very significantly. In addition to gains in strength and muscle mass they also seem to provide you with more energy and aggressiveness, things that are conducive to good workouts (but not so in interpersonal relationships)." So since steroids add muscle mass AND strength, it is reasonable to conclude that the extra strength easily can translate into hitting a ball further than it would go without that added mass/strength. A farther-traveling ball means that at least some hits that would have only gotten to the warning track may now be able to travel over the wall for a HR. Therefore there's no way to determine how many additional HR's someone (Bonds in this case) may have hit due to his steroid use. So his record will always be in question, and IMO deserves the *.

They did it! They beat Stanford 63-62! Somehow they clawed their way back into the game down 10 points, at the end. Was a rough, physical game. I'm proud of this team - knocked off 2 straight No. 1 seeds in Baylor and Stanford. They can hang with anybody.

That really doesn't make sense to me. If he wants to take the record away for Bonds' use of steroids, there is at least some logic to that, whether others agree or not. But considering taking a record away based on whether Bonds is found guilty of lying doesn't really make sense. He's not on trial for steroids, but for lying. Lying doesn't seem like a reason to take a record away. Steroid use - possibly, depending on your perspective.

He's in jail because he refused to cooperate with the prosecution after they jerked him around. The judge subsequently held him in contempt and made him nothing less than a political prisoner. I'm real sorry if you don't like the answer, but do the research and find out for yourself, then. If he had no information that was damaging to Barry Bonds, he wouldn't be sitting in jail for attempting to say "FU" to a Grand Jury. If he knew his hero was innocent he'd be doing everything in his power to help him, which would include testifying. That would be more important to him. Since he KNOWS he has damaging information, he's sitting in jail.

If Bonds was innocent (despite the overwhelming circumstantial evidence) of the charges of lying to the Grand Jury about taking steroids, then Anderson would have no reason to avoid the trial. He'd be able to waltz right in, say he never injected Bonds with anything, or at the very least never told Bonds what he was injecting into him. That despite all the other ballplayers flocking to Anderson to get similar injections, knowing what it had done for Bonds, and all of them knowing they were asking for illegal substances. Since Anderson is refusing to testify, he obviously has information that would hurt Bonds, and doesn't want to share it. Otherwise he'd be there at the trial. He probably has a golden handshake from Bonds and is waiting and for a big payday once everything is finally over. That's his incentive. That's about enough reasonable proof to me. Also, a credible witness (Kathy Hoskings) who didn't want to testify at all, stated today that she personally saw Anderson injecting Bonds: "'This is Kathy. That's my girl. She ain't going to say nothing to nobody,"' she quoted Bonds as saying. "So Greg shot him in the belly button." Why would Bonds be worried she would say something to anybody, if he was doing something legal? Still waiting for a reasonable, logical response from Goodspeak on why Anderson's in jail, from Goodspeak's perspective.

Mako jumps in boat Fisherman Jason Kresse used no bait to make the catch of a lifetime: An 8-foot mako shark that simply jumped into the back of his boat. Kresse, of Freeport, Texas, was hoping to land some red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico when he set out early Monday. You may be right about Moore. I've only seen her play once this season, so I don't have a good enough sense of her game. She's a great player obviously. My opinion of Griner is based on seeing her more frequently, and she's almost a freak of nature out there. Taller than everyone else, long armspan, and able to make shots from almost everywhere. Her game was off last night vs A&M, but I'd like to think that was because of the Aggies' defense.

Great win by A&M over Baylor in the women's tourney. A&M had lost to Baylor 3 times this season already, and Baylor had probably the best overall player in women's hoops in Britney Griner. A&M going to the Final Four for the first time ever, along with Stanford, UConn, & Notre Dame.

He's a musician and producer. He's doing alot of the remastering of the King Crimson catalog. I believe Jakko Jakszyk is doing the remainder of the titles. Wilson is the main guy in Porcupine Tree, and has also done some solo work (under his own name, Bass Communion, and IEM), and also is a primary musician in the bands No-Man and Blackfield.

I agree with Larry's comments. Also, if you're doing a search on a topic you know has already been discussed, and you're looking for specific information, it sure makes it alot easier if you only have to go back through 1 old thread, as opposed to 20.

Update from Steven Wilson's FB page: "The new SW solo record is still on track for September release, and I think the next two King Crimson remixes (Larks Tongues in Aspic and Starless and Bible Black) will be out around the same time." At least we finally know which the next titles are and when they're coming. This 40th anniversary reissue series sure is slow (but most excellent!).

I take back one thing I said - I don't dislike Asia, they're actually not bad at the music they make. If I listen to their early albums as AOR rock, it's actually not bad. The disappointment only comes in when you consider (as a prog fan) what they *could* have done.

Either way, the glass is twice as big as it should be. Musically speaking, too.

I'm not a big Asia fan either. They were intentionally AOR type music, not prog. Which was disappointing considering the pedigree of the musicians involved. But even the prog groups that were around at that point were also leaning towards pop - Genesis, the other guys in Yes, etc. I think part of it was the "uncool" factor of prog at the time, and the desire to make big selling pop music. Heck, even classic rock bands were playing simpler, money grabbing music - Jefferson Starship for example. And later Aerosmith, Heart, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top and Chicago followed that formula too, IMO.
