  2. All the best, Jim! Thanks for everything you do here for us.
  3. How is it unprovoked when you provoke him in the previous post?
  4. There were some glitches in their system that got people 1-3 free discs (just pay shipping) repeatedly, with no purchase obligations, if I recall correctly.
  5. Happy Birthday, David!
  6. The Petty box is available at that price in the stores, as well as online (here).
  7. For U.S. members, Best Buy is selling the deluxe Tom Petty live Anthology set for $29.99. This includes 5 cds (1 exclusive to this set), 1 blue ray, 2 dvds, and an lp (a '76 live bootleg show). It was upwards of $100 when it came out 2 yrs ago.
  8. Has anybody ever tried absinthe? The real stuff, which includes wormwood. I had a taste on my overseas trip a couple of weeks ago, definitely a strong anise-flavor to it. Just wondering what other's experience with "the green fairy" has been.
  9. Happy Birthday, Larry!
  10. Pictures from St. Maarten two weeks ago:
  11. Classless plays by Odom & Bynum in the 4th quarter.
  12. Happy Birthday, Mark! And congrats on your recent DB cover, keep 'em coming!
  13. We went camping last weekend on Lake Mathis, and there were burn bans in effect everywhere. Severe drought conditions and very dry wood and brush everywhere makes for a seriously dangerous situation. I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before water rationing (at least for lawn watering) kicks in again.
  14. Thanks everyone! Going out for a nice steak dinner tonight with my bride and my two kids, so can't ask for much more than that! Hard to believe this board has been active for 8 years now - here's to another 8 and then some! I know you had to have been working on that for a long, long time, Free!! Well done!
  15. Happy Birthday, Flurin! Thank you for all you bring to this community!
  16. What? No PT, Blackfield, SW solo stuff??? There actually was a SW release for Record Store Day, but only in the UK, I believe. A split 7" vinyl with Oceanside, consisting of their tracks from the Tim Smith/Cardiacs tribute album. I dunno that I want this one track enough to buy the single on Ebay or wherever though. Might be easier to just buy the tribute album itself at some point! I think I have all the major SW recordings, but not all the guest appearances. Would be tough to be a completist!
  17. I ended up with the Crowded House live set and the Hendrix cd single. Was hoping to get the REM single box and the Pink Floyd live 66/67 too, but didn't see them.
  18. As an educator, I would certainly hope you know the difference between not proven guilty and innocent. The Feds had a case - Bonds' lackee chose to go to jail multiple times instead of stating the truth in court. If Anderson had nothing to hurt Bonds with, he'd have been there in a minute to help clear his buddy's name. But he didn't. It is difficult to prosecute somebody when the truth is not allowed to come out. I am sure Anderson will be paid accordingly. Regardless - Bonds *IS* guilty of taking steroids, self-admittedly. The visual evidence and on-field evidence certainly speaks to that as well, and earns him a big fat funky * for the rest of eternity. That is justice as well.
  19. If someone lies to a Grand Jury, they should be tried. You can't draw the line and say it's ok to lie to Grand Juries, about anything. Bonds has admitted to taking steroids. That's good enough for me (and I presume most realistic people) to forever put an ASTERISK next to his records. The real HR heroes: Hank Aaron - MLB HR King - 755 Josh Gibson - American HR King - 800 Sadaharu Oh - World HR King - 868
  20. As a self-professed advocate of the court he's now has to agree and accept that Bonds is a felon. And the 11-1 vote merely echoes what the vast majority of the population believes - that Bonds lied.
  21. Remarkable how two PED users' data - that shows their improved hitting at a time when power hitters' HRs drop off - is so DRAMATICALLY different than the norm for all of the best hitters. What's also remarkable is that you've been spouting your defense of Bonds on this board for years now. You'd think if your arguments were credible, that one person would have been swayed. Just ONE!! But it hasn't happened. Your position is an anomaly, nothing more. If Bonds has spent his whole career playing for the Blue Jays or Twins, you wouldn't have carried this argument on at all.
  22. That's an excellent analysis! Hard to argue with that data, too.
