  1. Visited there last year when they were still clearing up the park after the Olympic Games. It's one of my favourite museums and I used to visit it regularly when I was growing up in London in the 1950s. It's always good to be reminded of the time when Britain was a leading maritime nation and .....the Harrison clocks are just amazing.
  2. ...all over by Saturday?
  3. ha...ha...ha....perhaps I'll find the answer there. Anyway, I've found a work-round using Flickr.
  4. Your ears should be ringing after two nights of that....... I really must visit The Vortex next time I'm in London.
  5. They don't make one with valves. Of course they do..........
  6. Doh.......I can't work out how to attach a thumbnail. Help!!!!!!!
  7. Ah, children...what would we do without them? Great post, Ed...thanks.
  8. They're very good and both available on a single CD. I'm old enough to remember when a new India Navigation LP appearing in the shops was a big event.....those were the days. I've just had a look on Amazon and see that it goes for big bucks now. Looks like another one to put on your "I'll have when I can get it for a decent price" list, Hans. Got the CD on eBay for just under $4 plus shipping. A bit cheaper than on Amazon... There you are. Everything comes to he who waits....long enough!
  9. Didn't he write a very interesting article on the life and disappearence of Dupree Bolton? I always enjoyed his article/reviews for the UK music press in the 70s.
  10. My wife died five years ago and neither of my two children are remotely interested in my music collection, so I have a reciprocal arrangement with a friend who shares my taste in music that whoever goes second will inherit the other's collection and decide how best to sell it off.....or not! That should keep the survivor busy for a while!
  11. I've never heard anything by Buck Hill so where's the best place to start..... anyone?
  12. The Gerd Dudek "Night and Day" is superb. Astonishing that it's only his second release as leader and his earlier one,"Smatter" is also out on psi.
  13. I love his novels, read them all in the 1970s and re-read them often. Apparently he died quite young of Alzheimer's... a great shame.
  14. Yes, sad news indeed. I guess that means we'll never get to hear those Horo albums reissued on CD. Or.........maybe it means we WILL. Yes, maybe it does. I wonder where the masters (are there any?) will end up?
  15. Now that's one that could do with a re-issue on CD!
  16. I've bought a lot of these releases over the last few years and they're excellently produced. Good sound and nice artwork. OK, not all of them are desert island discs but they're never less than interesting. I too like the look of the proposed Attila Zoller plus the Third Eye with Gerd Dudeck and Wilton Gaynair looks a good bet.
  17. Severely underestimated Tenorman! true Yet another "unknown" tenor player on the SteepleChase label! Where's a good place to start with his recordings, Chuck?
  18. I wonder if they've sorted that out for the re-issue?
  19. Yes, sad news indeed. I guess that means we'll never get to hear those Horo albums reissued on CD.
  20. http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-First-Cut-Major-Surgery/dp/B00AF1H6QA/ref=pd_sim_m_h__2 Good spot, Bev!...thanks for the heads-up.
  21. Okka. I might be able to provide. Okka! I thought he'd stopped issuing new titles. Good. Available from Okka site already. $18 inc postage to us in UK Thanks for the heads-up...I've ordered a copy.
  22. Zen and the art of walking.......
  23. Why not? Apart from "you-know-what" it's life's greatest pleasure.
