  2. Yes! a wonderful set
  3. I keep mine in a plastic container
  4. Wow! so Trane wanted him as the quartet's drummer?
  5. Damn........ one of my fav. drummers.
  6. RIP Butch
  7. What a great bit of guitar in that video, some real interesting lines!
  8. Grantstand
  9. Not trio but both Metheny/Mehldau albums are great quiet harmonically busy. Both Day Trip albums too (the live Tokyo Day Trip is excellent). Kenny Burrell 12/15/78, Roni Ben Hur, "Fortuna" (a quartet)
  10. I'll pick this up when I can.
  11. Sad, RIP.
  12. The Master II was issued in the US in 1996 I think.
  13. I can confirm that the bassist Don Bailey is not on "The Swingin Shepard Blues".
  14. Happy b-day Newk
  15. Great news. Is there a possibility Mosaic could do a CTI All Stars set with the Southgate Palace concert in 1971, Munich in '72 and Seattle in '73?
  16. I know, I was joking
  17. I want the complete Blackhawk in mono. Oh wait, I'll just hit the MONO button on my amp!
  18. Pat Metheny has one of his guitars
  19. I don't think he did sgcim, but Eddie is one of my fav Jimmy Smith guitarists. He was a much better fit than Thornel Schwartz and more inventive than Quentin Warren as far as "regular" JOS guitarists.
  20. My 3LP box set 70s French reissue on RCA, bought as an import, has that cover design too. A great session!
  21. Indeed it is, JOS, Burrell and Jimmie Smith on drums. I think this is one of JOS' best from later in his career too. For some reason, they aren't reissuing the second album, just the first. It'd be nice to have a complete sessions set from this gig.
  22. Listening now to the original US CD, if you don't have it since it is being reissued in Japan, highly recommended. I don't plan on upgrading but hope they don't make the reissue too loud.
  23. I have the Jazz in Paris digipack version.
