  1. His Clean Feed CD Edge Of The Forest is really good.
  2. new Aram Shelton (Delmark) & Mike Reed (482) CDs
  3. Interesting. I'm sorry to hear that Kenny Clarke didn't think that the MJQ was "jazz" & that Milt Jackson "hated" John Lewis.
  4. My kids bought me one. I gave it to my wife. She loads (is that the right word?) everything. When I want to hear something she "finds" it for me. Pretty good deal.
  5. How are his novels? I have a copy of "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" but haven't read it yet. A friend also recommended "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" to me recently. They're both well worth your time. As I recall, Kavalier & Clay won the Pulitzer. Just started Barbara Kingsolver: Lacuna
  6. Had it on our DVR. Watched it last night, & agree it was great.

    Duane Tatro

    Excellent set.
  8. My thought too.
  9. That's the REAL cover. The other one with a photo of a guy with a trumpet is a jive-ass second-rate replacement. I actually agree with that.

    Anthony Braxton

I only have the Moscow (2008) CD which is very good.
  11. Vijay Iyer Trio: Historicity

The Sound I Saw is a great book. He also collaborated with Langston Hughes on The Sweet Flypaper Of Life.
  13. I see a reference to Disconforme in association with these at CD Universe. Comments???
  14. I like 'em.
  15. David Ebershoff: The 19th Wife
  16. Ear X-Tacy I may have the incorrect spelling, but it's something like that.
  17. Rolldown: Varmint
  18. I usually like his playing. The Venus CDs are nice - both his leader dates & the One For All CDs.
  19. That's a great DVD.
  20. In view of the above I'm glad I sold my vinyl copy years ago for some pretty good $$.
  21. Excellent show. The "dreaded" vocoder was only used once.
