  1. That's the REAL cover. The other one with a photo of a guy with a trumpet is a jive-ass second-rate replacement. I actually agree with that.

I only have the Moscow (2008) CD which is very good.
  3. Vijay Iyer Trio: Historicity

The Sound I Saw is a great book. He also collaborated with Langston Hughes on The Sweet Flypaper Of Life.
  5. I see a reference to Disconforme in association with these at CD Universe. Comments???
  6. I like 'em.
  7. David Ebershoff: The 19th Wife
  8. Ear X-Tacy I may have the incorrect spelling, but it's something like that.
  9. Rolldown: Varmint
  10. I usually like his playing. The Venus CDs are nice - both his leader dates & the One For All CDs.
  11. That's a great DVD.
  12. In view of the above I'm glad I sold my vinyl copy years ago for some pretty good $$.
  13. Excellent show. The "dreaded" vocoder was only used once.
  14. Junot Diaz: Drown
  15. Among others Pee Wee Russell, Hampton Hawes, Art Pepper.
  16. No prize fight here. The writing was great.
  17. So would I. Excellent music.
  18. Stefon Harris & Blackout tomorrow night. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hope the "vocoder" is kept to a minimum.
  19. I think it's a fair price too - especially since I paid $19.80 online (no tax or shipping). My copy has been sent.
  20. Still one of my favorites. Lawyers, Guns & Money; Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, etc., etc.
  21. Strange title, never heard of the author, not very impressive cover. Therefore it far exceeded my expectations, & I endorse it highly. Compelling writing IMHO. I'm happy a friend suggested that I read it. There's already a sequel of sorts called The Gourmet. BTW, the UK cover is nicer. I don't know how much more I would pay for that, but between the two, that's the one I would opt for. I wouldn't pay more for the cover either, but that one sure is better. I purchased a fairly inexpensive paperback version via Amazon.
