    Myra Melford

I like her groups, composing & playing. 'Nuff said. BTW I don't hear that Bad Plus comparison at all. I much prefer Myra.
  2. I love Santa Fe as well; usually visit every other year or so. I was out there several years ago on the day they opened the Georiga O'Keefe Museum and met Gene Hackman! Also spent the day before rafting on the Rio Grande, which was much fun! I was also out there when 9/11 happened and ended up driving back to Indy when my visit was over.....very eerie time. I'll drop you a line when I visit next! Mark ← Let me know.
  3. Oops! I saw SF & thought Santa Fe (where I live). Guess not. Never mind.
  4. Rick's a "cool" guy. FWIW, I've ordered a fair amount from RT in the past with excellent service. I'm afraid I too will stick with my CDU preorder, but I'll certainly continue to order when appropriate from RT.
  5. Gasoline went up 20 cents a gallon here this a.m..
  6. One Griffin that took a while to "kick in" was Change Of Pace with Julius Watkins on french horn. Once it did it was very nice.
  7. Tina Brooks vinyl. I don't have a turntable anymore, so I sold the few sets I had on vinyl (Brooks, Quebec, Ammons / Johnson, the first Hodges, maybe 1 or 2 others that I've blocked out). I have lots of great ones now on CD & wouldn't sell any of them.
  8. Don't ask. Don't tell.
  9. I had this on vinyl a "million" years ago. Recall it as very cool. Had a great cover too.
  10. CD Universe pre-order price now showing as $77+. My preorder still shows the "cheap" price. Let's keep our fingers crossed!! My recollection is that they've come through on price issues like this in the past.
  11. Agree. They replaced my entire set also.
  12. I've been waiting for the Pepper Adams for 20 years.
  13. Sideman with George Russell too - right?? Oops, I'm late on this, but at least I'm correct.
  14. I agree.
  15. A lot. I'm too lazy to count them.
  16. How is this? I've heard it's quite good ... ← Pamuk is an excellent writer. Istanbul is well written. I also like his novel, Snow.
  17. Tyner Select
  18. Jonathan Safran Foer: Everything Is Illuminated
  19. Nat's O.K. with me. As noted above Cannon recorded with many other trumpet players. I'm partial to Portrait Of Cannonball with Blue Mitchell.
  20. Ordered today from CD Baby. It's in transit. Thanks.
  21. indeed!!! ← For sure. Dupree Bolton - yikes!!
  22. I would think that Ella / Louis sold plenty on Verve.
  23. I pre-ordered (at CDU) the Miles, Monk / Trane & I think I'll add the new Betty Lavette also due on Sept. 27.
  24. Yeah - Mel Rhyne!
