  1. Matana is great. I have both of her Sticks & Stones CDs. Her quartet disc on Utech is also wonderful with Taylor Ho Bynum on trumpet. http://www.utechrecords.com This is a limited edition of 200. Just received her solo disc of Ellington songs directly from her. msmatana@gmail.com
  2. We're not going either. Sophie Scholl, about events over 60 years ago, was still a very emotional experience (well made film BTW), but this one might just be too much, too soon.
  3. Thank you for finding this for me! I ordered one through the link. Thanks for that link. Bought a copy of Optimista which I couldn't find elsewhere. Be aware that you purchased the 1 CD version of what is a 2 CD set in the incarnation that I have. 8 fewer tracks. Still a great deal.
  4. Hiroshi@earlymusic.com As many will attest, he has been a great source for jazz CDs from Japan. I would think he'd be able to get this too. No idea what the price would be.
  5. Dusty Groove does not have it. I bought mine from an Amazon "vendor" for $33 + shipping. The "cheapest" one there now is $50. I wonder if Hiroshi could get it for you. I wouldn't mind paying the $50, but the seller is Caiman, who I have had bad luck with. I have sent them money, at least three times now, and been told weeks later that the item I ordered was out of print. How would I contact this seller named Hiroshi about the CD? Maybe, what I should ask is what would be the best CD to start with... Hiroshi@earlymusic.com As many will attest, he has been a great source for jazz CDs from Japan. 6. The Ted Nash CD not specifically mentioned that I really like is Espada De La Noche.

  8. I obtained the new Bunky Green CD directly from Label Bleu. Took 5-6 days to arrive. I don't know if it was "cheap", but it sure is good.
  9. What about the Pi CDs? I like both of them.
  10. New Bottle, Old Wine is the same as Cannonball Adderley & Gil Evans.
  11. When's Chloe going to get her gun out??
  12. Saw Lila Downs last night. Amazing!! As excellent as the 1st time I saw her.
  13. 4 Seasons, Routes & Delicious Poison are on the way to me. Damn this place costs me a lot of $$$.
  14. This kind of stuff pisses me off. I only want the previously unissued tracks.
  15. I didn't mean I need Grass Roots & Lift Every Voice. I meant I have them.
  16. Kevin Baker: Strivers Row
  17. You would also need Grass Roots (1969) and Lift Every Voice (1970). Right - & I do.
  18. The above + Dance With Death, Passing Ships & The Mosaic Select would then cover everything Hill recorded in his first sojourn for Blue Note. Eternal Spirit, But Not Farewell & the new Time Lines come later. Is that correct??
  19. Somewhat off-topic, Abrams is also on a MJT+3 Argo release that has seen mini-LP reissue in Japan.

    The Yazoo Label

  21. Nice price. Nice music.
  22. Correction. Brewers win again -5-0. Of course, it's all been at home. Impressive start nonetheless.
