Yeah lots of of love for Wynton Kelly. A guy with a modest and gentle swing. Great technique and always a pleasure to listen to. Have to say I appreciate him the most as a sideman with countless artists. His work as a leader is nice but nothing that blows my mind. I do like Kelly Blue. Recently bought 'Someday My Prince Will Come' on Veejay but it hasn't won my heart yet. Time to give it another spin.
Don’t know what to say. One the all time greats and one of my favorite piano players. The stuff he made for Blue Note and Milestone are from a rare consistent quality. Also a beautiful person.
Unfortunately I never saw him in real life. God I hate myself. Some 12 or 14 years ago he was in Amsterdam at the Concertgebouw. I was 16 years old making a 100 euros a month with my parttime student job. A ticket was 50 euros or so. Found it a bit expensive and thought: Ah hè will probably come again within a few years. He never did... it was the last chance to see him and I didn’t go
Will see them in Rotterdam coming March. Can’t wait to see these living legends playing together. Harper is among my very favorite artists, along with Mal and Coltrane.

No I think you need a seperate account. But as Shrdlu stated. I don’t think amazon Japan Ships overseas... kupiku.com was a very nice way to access the Japanese Amazon marketplace but unfortunately the search function does not work
There are some cheap ones on amazon.co.jp (around 7 dollars)
there was a very easy way to obtain these items through kupiku.com but the search function on that website seams broke
So any recommendations by fellow board members on his ‘70’s and ‘80’s output? I already own ‘Hannibal’, Children of the Fire. But there is also some more obscure stuff on labels like Denon and Baystate. Is it worth buying?
