  1. Thanks for sharing. Lovely footage. I wish there was more video footage of recordings at the van Gelder studios.
  2. This is of course Pete LaRocas date. John Gilmore 😍
  3. Me (black shirt) with @Niko at the Bimhuis where we saw Sylvie Courvoisier, Wadada Leo Smith and band. Great concert and I could confirm Nikos a really nice guy in real life as well 👍
  4. Thanks @mjazzg really like that album too and looking forward to the concert.
  5. Tomorrow night at the Bimhuis: SYLVIE COURVOISIER CHIMAERA ft. Nate Wooley , Wadada Leo Smith , Sylvie Courvoisier piano, Christian Fennesz, Drew Gress, Kenny Wollessen and Nasheet Waits
  6. You could just send Matt an email. And about the format: each has his preference right? I loved the 3lp set. Not sure Nimbus is big enough a company to release everything on two different formats.
  7. I don’t want to temper you’re joy but there are post companies that send a bill afterwards….
  8. Yeah he was a very fine piano player. Very recognizable trough his own style that is really part of the whole sound of these records.
  9. It’s one of the Quartets very best. I’ve got the LP as well plus the cd for the bonus material. Any thoughts to share yet?
  10. With Billy Harper and Hannibal in one band
  11. A posthumously released classic from the Nimbus West vaults.
  12. No I haven’t. I did listen to some samples a few years ago and can only remember I found it too much money for what I heard.
  13. Lovely sets. You’re in for a treat with those
  14. a very well sounding reissue of this great spiritual jazz classic. With Joe Bonner, Cecil McBee and Norman Connors. What a rhythm section 😍
  15. Those kids have great taste. I always wonder if my kids will have more open ears when they’re all grown up than others because they are hearing a lot of free and improvised music. I think that people are from birth really are a tabula rasa in that sense as both my boys never responded negatively to even the freest of all jazz. I still remember me playing Albert Ayler for my 2 year old the first time and he didn’t respond to it in any way, like it was some pleasant background music. My wife on the other hand still has difficulties with even the classic Coltrane quartet or Charlie Parker. It might have to something with how she grew up right? If your brains are used to a certain structure in music, you’re probably going to have trouble listen to more unstructured music. Anyway, you’re doing a great job bringing them up with the greatest jazz players of all time
  16. That’s the recent reissue by Superior Viaduct right? It’s lovely and the musics even more than that
  17. Got the PayPal notice as well. Great news. Very much looking forward to these cds. The new Sabir Mateen also sparks my interest. Did I understand well that the Nate Morgan is a solo record?
