  1. And it’s not over yet it’s that one time a year when I am all alone for a full day. My wife’s in Italy for her job. My kids are having a sleepover at my parents. So it’s just me, jazz and Belgian craft beer this whole afternoon. I even bought Westvleteren for this occasion. Don’t get me wrong I love my wife and kids, they’re the very best thing in my life but I love that one afternoon of rest and just my own presence. You’re a young father as well you must know what I’m talking bout It’s now up to Frank and Elmo!
  2. Regardless the cover art it’s an amazing record. I like both the original cover as the Tone Poet version
  3. Ive got a lot of Petrucciani so I am pretty much satisfied but the rhythm section makes this an interesting one.
  4. The Stinson thread made me want to listen to him again. I think his solo on My Joy is a perfect example of what he was capable of.
  5. Preparing for that new Sam release with some of the best Mal trio music avaible
  6. Sounds great Clifford. Love & Hate is such a beautiful piece of music.
  7. Id say every single recording this group has made is essential but this one might be my favorite.
  8. Ah that’s a shame they could have done more with it.
  9. I believe they are all out there yet. Maybe DG is having difficulties obtaining a copy or something like that?
  10. Very, very curious to all those dates! Please let us know what your findings are when you listened to them.
  11. Definitely it’s very good.
  12. Yeah I could see why. Fortunately we’re better fathers for our boys though 👍
  13. Dollar bin Getz record. With Jimmy Raney and Duke Jordan. Beautiful stuff.
  14. Last one for today. Amazing stuff…
  15. last but not least… yeah this is the most essential from the whole bunch. It’s funky, bluesy, soulful very very nice.
  16. Wow the bonus session Love Always is amazing. Unfortunately only one 15 minute track on a single sided LP but I like it a lot. The composition Love Always is credited to Jef Gilson here but I am very sure I know this composition from another record probably by another artist. I hate it when I just can’t think which one. Maybe you guys could help me out?
  17. Haha yeah that run trough my mind too when I read the ‘this looks great on your coffee table’ advertising text..
  18. I think you like it but hard to tell sometimes. There are some samples of this session on YouTube. You’re going for the cd versions right?
  19. Keno Speller is only on two tracks which makes this double LP essentially a solo saxophone/piano/flute/bass clarinet album. Not the most accessible but definitely very interesting stuff. Lancaster has an amazing sound and it’s an intimate listening experience.
  20. Again side A is definitely better than side A. I like it very, very much. Side B is okay but less interesting. The single is a nice addition that was with the original release as well.
