  1. It's cool to see that this has always been your passion Charlie. Great photographs. I am afraid I will never able to drop by but I do believe it all sounds great. But if it's mostly about the music it would be great to see you post a little more in the music threads. Sounds like you have a great collection and you make enough listening hours so do share your experiences here on the board
  2. Great stuff. Rick Lopez is an amazing guy. Now if every artist just had one dedicated fan like that we would be swimming in jazz books and documentaries

    Charlie Haden

True. I don’t like that album. One of those records where the seemingly interesting line up does not work.

    Happy Birthday!

Mal Waldron would have become 99 years old on this day. Hurray for Mal
  5. Maybe…. does your cat have an odd shape or meows a blue note now and then TTK?
  6. There comes a time that TTK revisits this thread and happily announces that he found it. It might be this week, might be this decade, might be…
  7. This is great news. Very satisfied with the Baikida Carroll they reissued. Truly a beautiful reissue. Not familiar with these records but I do consider myself a Byard Lancaster aficionado so I’ll probably get this. It’s great anyway that there are still labels that are reissuing the more obscure jazz
  8. Thanks for sharing. Lovely footage. I wish there was more video footage of recordings at the van Gelder studios.
  9. This is of course Pete LaRocas date. John Gilmore 😍
  10. Me (black shirt) with @Niko at the Bimhuis where we saw Sylvie Courvoisier, Wadada Leo Smith and band. Great concert and I could confirm Nikos a really nice guy in real life as well 👍
  11. Thanks @mjazzg really like that album too and looking forward to the concert.
  12. Tomorrow night at the Bimhuis: SYLVIE COURVOISIER CHIMAERA ft. Nate Wooley , Wadada Leo Smith , Sylvie Courvoisier piano, Christian Fennesz, Drew Gress, Kenny Wollessen and Nasheet Waits
  13. You could just send Matt an email. And about the format: each has his preference right? I loved the 3lp set. Not sure Nimbus is big enough a company to release everything on two different formats.
  14. I don’t want to temper you’re joy but there are post companies that send a bill afterwards….
  15. Yeah he was a very fine piano player. Very recognizable trough his own style that is really part of the whole sound of these records.
  16. It’s one of the Quartets very best. I’ve got the LP as well plus the cd for the bonus material. Any thoughts to share yet?
  17. With Billy Harper and Hannibal in one band
  18. A posthumously released classic from the Nimbus West vaults.
  19. No I haven’t. I did listen to some samples a few years ago and can only remember I found it too much money for what I heard.
