So how do these UHQCD discs sound? I have a couple of SHM cd’s and they sound good but not much better than a ‘regular’ cd.

Pure Pleasure issue. It really sounds fantastic. I had the Harvest cd issue and a cd collector was prepared to pay 50’euros for my copy. I agreed and bought the 2 Lp set as a replacement of this fantastic record

Joe is in so many of my records. I feel ashamed to say he really wasn’t on my radar up till quite recently. Really ashamed for he as such a significant style and leaves such a trademark on the music. I also love his compositions.

I’ve got the Tone Poet of this record. It sounds fantastic. The whole record is amazing by the way

Yeah I think so. The cover is indeed awful but I really like the music. It’s nice to hear Harper play in a more relaxed atmosphere. He shines anyway. Most of the compositions were written by Mal Waldron and that’s pretty audible in a good way. As is stated before: his two albums with Mal, especially the live date, are great. He’s the connection between two of my favorite players: Mal Waldron and Billy Harper. The two dates with Mal are great (On Tour and Childs Prayer) and recently I am spinning the one with Billy Harper and Cecil Bridgewater on MPS and that on is also excellent. Now his drumming isn’t necessarily anything exceptional but he did form some very fine bands and played some really fine tunes. Is there more to discover and is he known around here by others?

2008 Souljazz issue. Sounds great and the music is out of this world. Theme de Yoyo could make every day a happy one, even a boring grey Sunday afternoon in January. I do wonder if they paid their dues to Nessa records @Chuck Nessa Nessa records isnt mentioned anywhere.

I’m mostly into his work with his Ray Brown/Ed Thigpen trio and the stuff on MPS. But I do like the album mhatta mentions here so I’d probably give this new release a try

The solution is crap indeed. I create my own with distilled water, alcohol and a drop of Dreft dish washing fluid. The machine works perfect.

Damn another great musician I really dig his playing. Love his funky free music. Time to spin Infinity once more in his honor. Sounds of Liberation was such a revelation to me. Love that band and that date

Yeah that is what Clifford Allen told me here on the Organissimo board. I now have a vinyl bootleg which I mostly use for it's cover art in my room as the sound is not so great.
