  1. Brad, Check out the samples on the Mosaic site. I'm not a Soprano fan either, but this is some good stuff.
  2. Me too! This one's a buy.
  3. Early Purple with Rod Evans on vocals were a cool band!
  4. I don't have much left to sell, and these DAMM Selects keep coming at a fast and furious pace .
  5. Last time I sell you a CD
  6. I was just checking out the Liebman and I'm gonna have to buy it. I just bought the Tristano/Konitz/Marsh set this week so this may end up in a trip to Divorce Court.
  7. My favorite is Blue Moods. I'm not sure if it's the great rendition of Nature Boy, or the presence of Mingus and Elvin Jones (Teddy Charles too), but I just love this session.
  8. I totally missed what was so great about the Replacements ... I thought they were a good band, but didn't think they stood out in a historical context, if you will. I have to wonder if they came up at a different time if they would have gotten the same acclaim. On the other hand, now I've got that nutty "Dyslexic Heart" tune stuck in my head and I can't make it stop. You really need to listen to their lyrics. Westerberg's selection of topics, use of double entendres and dark humor, all done tongue-in-cheek are unsurpassed IMHO. Just listen to songs like Answering Machine, Swinging Party, Androgynous, I Will Dare, Sixteen Blue, Alex Chilton, etc, etc..
  9. Davies is great, but I'd give that honor to Paul Westerberg.
  10. You bet yer ass I can! Oh; you want names? Well, stick to Lola and older, and there's just no way you can go wrong. Classic stuff! (And a big wave of the moose's antlers to the other two voters for this group!) Misfits is another top-notch Kinks title.
  11. Village Green Preservation Society, Lola vs...
  12. Quicksilver Messinger Service
  13. Gravy Train smokes!
  14. I have the Moncur, Amy, Weston, Brookmeyer and Green. My favorite amongst these is the Weston. The biggest suprise for me was the Brookmeyer - much better than I expected. They're all very good though.
  15. Yeah, that's exactly how I'd describe it. I dig that session.
  16. I'd go right for the box sets (if allowed).
  17. Thanks Brad, I'll do that. I wanted to see if our fellow board members wanted it first.
  18. up for the weekend. I can't believe that no one wants Soul Stirrin'. I guess everybody has the Bennie Green Select. Can't blame anyone for that - it's great!
  19. Thanks for the support guys! I agree about Soul Stirrin' but I have the Select so I can afford to let the Conn go. Same with the Moncurs'.

  21. I hope the stuff they put on my lawn hurts my neighbor's dog who likes to leave his souvenirs on my lawn. The company just leaves a note saying keep all pets off the grass for a couple hours after application. Again, I don't know how accurate it all is. My cat's still alive. That's my concern too. I stopped fertilizing a few years ago because of the dog. I'd rather have a brown lawn with weeds than a sick pooch.
  22. That's the one "classic" YES album that I've never heard and always meant to check out. My favorites are Close to the Edge and Relayer.
  23. Brookmeyer Select. Amy Select before that.
  24. I picked up FESTIVAL SESSION and it's excellent. Great sound, great playing!
