  1. Quicksilver Messinger Service - Happy Trails
  2. Little Red's Fantasy is one of his best. I'd love to see it re-released without that god-aweful cover someday though.
  3. If you could find the Blue Note Swingtets session, that'll give you a taste of small group swing. It features Tiny Grimes, John Hardy and Ike Quebec in some small group settings.
  4. Thanks again everyone for all the well wishes.
  5. I never had any interest in either of these sets, primarily due to the alternates. I took a shot and went with the Kelly/Chambers and I'm glad I did. There's some great music here and some fantastic sidemen (Cannonball, Lateef, Mogie, Shorter). And then there's the Strozier session which is excellent. I really recommend this one if you're on the fence.
  6. Hey that's a great photo! It's sad to see all of these great artists (now Elvin and Tony Randall) passing on.
  7. AMEN!!
  8. I can attest to the fact that they are in fact, separate individuals. I've sold/traded CDs with both The Rooster and the guy with the antlers.
  9. Thanks guys! (Yes, rubber glove time is coming soon .
  10. Here's a few: Andrew! Moon Rappin' Soundin' Off
  11. Good idea.
  12. Very sad. The Odd Couple is one of my all-time favorites too. RIP Tony.
  13. Another one that's popping up all over are these pearl white Cadillac Escalades. I had some woman with big hair in one of these things on my bumper the other day. So now, in addition to the simpletons in the Hummers, you got the Soprano wannabes (like that's something to aspire to ) driving these monsters.
  14. Many of the film noirs contained great cinematography. One of the best IMO is Kiss Me Deadly. Dark images, shadows and some great camera angles.
  15. Yes! Seconds is an excellent film with great visual impact. Best performance of Rock Hudson's career. To this day, the ending still creeps me out.
  16. Sorry to hear that. More people need to understand that 6,000+ lbs of steel is a weapon, just like a gun, bomb, hand grenade; take your pick. I can understand if someone has a legitimate need for a commercial vehicle for work purposes, but other than that, no one should own these things, especially the irresponsible.
  17. Good job! You're gonna dig it.
  18. I'm with you Dan! And not only Hummers, but all of these oversized pieces of shit. One of my best friends is lying near death in a hospital right now due to some 21 year-old asshole driving a Ford F250 at 60MPH on a two-lane road with a 30MPH limit. He couldn't control the thing coming around a blind curve and hit my friend head on in a Nissan Sentra. He walked away with six stiches in his forehead and my friend, if he lives, probably will not walk again.
  19. Action is very good and It's Time is a notch or two below that IMHO, but Right Now is definitely my favorite. Gotta love Cliffiord Jarvis.
  20. Man, I'm excited! Not sure about Sangrey though.
  21. I listened to the CD last night. I believe that there's one organ solo on the first track and that's about it.
  22. I have the Japan mini-LP too . One question that comes up frequently about this one is whether or not some/all of the organ solos were edited out. I haven't listened to it in a while, but I recall that there may be one or two short organ solos. Maybe Mr. Tracy can comment on this.
  23. Gotta be good! I've never heard a bad date that Woody played on.
