  1. Conrad, I'm so sorry to hear about the nightmare you amd your family are going through. The best I can do is to keep your family on my find and I know that things will eventually work out. keep the positive thought, man. To quote Beethoven's comment on the finale of his String Quartet in F Major, Op. 135: Muss es sein? Es muss sein! Es muss sein! (Must it be? It must be! It must be!). Things will get better! Barak
  2. Happy belated Birthday, RDK. Hope you had a nice one
  3. Works fine from Jerusalem
  4. Jim, Joe, Randy: It took me this long to buy "Waiting for...". I'm playing it right now and this is a mighty fine CD, guys. You did extremely well This CD is so greasy in the very good sense. Excellent!! Thanks guys for the music and the forum, and get the 2nd one out ASAP!! Barak
  5. Very sad news. RIP
  6. Happy Bday Pete! May you live to take many more Bass solos.
  7. Bentsy, you know this album is a tribute to one pf your favorite players - John Carter? ← I know, and for this reason I wanted it. ← It's a nice one. More a Bobby Bradford album than A David Murray, I think. Brandford should have been billed as the leaser of this session.

  9. This way, if the couple call it off after a few months, you can call it off as well! I went to this wedding once, got them a nice present, then after 6 months or so they are divorced. The wedding was a scam if you ask me - to get people buy them stuff they needed.
  10. If I'm not mistaken, the drummer on Mantooth's Three Little Words was Ray Brinker.
  11. Around here he's known as Free For All
  12. Nuh, I'd keep it here. Two threads are better than one
  13. A previous thread
  14. Jim, I didn't get it - you don't like ringtones? Was there a subtle hidden innuendo in your post?
  15. Happy Birthday! many happy returns!
  16. Don't forget to carry a towel with you today when you leave home, because "A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitch hiker can have" http://www.towelday.kojv.net/
  17. BoB is great, look for "Travelling Somewhere" Also try to find some of "the Blue Notes" stuff - a South african sextet led by McGregor as well. I second that!! Also look for WSQ's M'Bizo Now that I think about it, many of Bluiett's album have african influences and several of David Murray. And try any of Don Pullen's The African-Brazilian Connection.
  18. Kinda scary over there at times...
  19. The cheese factor might explain my fondness for the album. considering my avatar...
  20. Can anyone find the previous discussion over this album? I did a search but couldn't find it. THNX!
  21. I've been enjoying this album a lot lately. I REALLY like this album. Oliver Nelson proves once again his genius arranging and composing. He also proves that it is possible to combine Jazz with electronics, rock and funk into a cohesive work. I know that this album is not a consensus. AMG, for one gives it only 2 stars, but I believ this is another gem off of Nelson's production line of great music. Is there any love here for Skull session? BTW, this album would make a great AOTW...
  22. Same thing happened to me Lon, but It was in Tanzania. I didn't even hear the bird coming! I was half expecting to hear the menacing theme from "Jaws", like I'm used to in the Hollywood flicks...
  23. ok! Now for the attachment test: hmmm... only 100k...
