  1. Are you talkin' about recent George Freeman or earlier?
  2. This was the smart photographer, not being behind the fence, but behind the behinds. By the by B, Internet explorer makes a photo this big, smaller....what second rate browser you using? When it's opened up in it's own window, yes Windows automatically re-sizes it. When it's directly linked in this software so that it shows up as a post, it's huge.
  3. Donny was a deep cat. I actually have a hard time listening to his music anymore because I think about his suicide. It's just a damn shame. Extensions of a Man is a great record.
  4. There's actually another live album which is kind of hard to find. Can't recall the name of it right now, but it's great. It's a damn shame that he didn't record more. I too was blown away by his musicianship and specifically his voice when I first discovered him about 5 years ago.
  5. That was a close game. I was playing a gig so I didn't see much of it. I will say by the replays that MSU seemed to get the short end of the referee stick.
  6. I'm back, reporting under Jim's name... Monday we saw the ENT. He suggested I have more testing (what do ya know!) to evaluate my inner ear. That is scheduled for this Thursday morning. I have been having problems with dizziness and pressure in that area. The dizziness is similar to the rocking of a boat. It is just enough to keep me feeling crappy. Riding in the car is the worst. The ENT also found a symptom of a symptom. Acid reflux. My nerves are getting to me and causing my throat to feel raw. Not good. I will take the meds he perscribed, but I hesitate adding potential side effects to all my other issues. We finally will follow up with our primary care doctor on Thursday afternoon. This is the man I only saw for 5 minutes who sent me to the ER. But, in order to get my short term disability extended, I have to touch base with him. Perhaps he will have some more leads and another referal for us. Then, it is back to the ENT to learn of the test results. My short term disability insurance carrier may refuse payment if the doctors don't give a specific diagnosis. So far it is unknown. No wonder my stomach is churning. I'm off work, on reduced income, Blue Cross calls here after every test asking how I am if we know anything yet, the Disability people are on our case, we have tests and appointments nearly every other day, and I haven't had a symptom-free day in a month, and we are no where closer to finding an answer. How do I feel today? The numbness & tingling in my face is persistant. It is in my entire jaw area, left and right, it goes into my neck and chin and up into the left cheekbone. My tonge has been soar for about 2 weeks. It too is tingling and aches by the end of the day from talking. The tightness sorrounding my neck comes and goes though there is constant pressure in my Adam's apple front and back. Headaches are common and I sometimes have pain behind my left eye. The other day is was a horrible stabbing pain. Luckily that didn't last long. Sometimes my eye is sensitive to the air and light. It has had a cloudy haze of vision since this all started. Fatigue is another big problem. I use to think of myself as an energizer bunny. My batteries are now ca-put! That's the news for now. Thanks again for all your interest in our situation. We will find the answer! Alison Wife of B3Groover
  7. I saw this last night with my wife (we're taking full advantage of having her sisters in town for the holidays!) I thought it was good, even if it was "hollywoodize". How could it not be? Jamie Foxx was amazing. The scenes in Atlantic's "studio" were cool as well. That's how those records were made! Atlantic's first "studio" was their office. At night they pushed all the desks back, stacking them on each other, and recorded! During the day it was an office! It was cool to see Tom Dowd as a character, too, although the guy that played him didn't act like Tom Dowd (he should've watched this movie. I had to go to the bathroom and must've missed the scene where Ray's mother died. I thought it odd that they didn't include that. I guess it must've been really short, which is strange considering how in every bio I've read of Ray it says the death of his mother hurt him more than anything. Anyway, it's definitely worth seeing. I'd see it again, just for the music scenes! Oops, also forgot.... no mention of Marcus Belgrave? Bummer.
  8. Yes indeed. Send me your address again and I'll send out a holiday CD with all four tracks on it non-compressed.
  9. Michigan State beat it's first three opponents by 40+ points, scoring over 100 points three games in a row! Granted, the teams are not upper echelon teams, but still... that's pretty impressive. Tonight they play Duke at Duke. I think they have a very good chance of putting the hurt on Duke. I have to play a gig but I'm hoping it'll be on the TVs (since every bar on the planet now has at least 10,000 TVs that must be turned on during live music.)
  10. So that's what 'bucephalus' means. I assumed it had something to do with 'phalus'.

  12. Welcome!
  13. As mentioned in another thread, last year we offered for free, some holiday music downloads. You can find the original thread by clicking here. We had a request to make more music available this year, so here you go. CLICK ME -----> A little holiday music for you! This was recorded just tonight, during our Sunday rehearsal. I'm really happy with my little home studio and I've been working on it a lot during the last year, learning how to get the best sounds I can and purchasing new equipment as funds allow. Just this evening Joe helped me re-arrange the main room we record in to be more user friendly and instrument friendly. The old configuration was set up when Alison and I first moved into this house in August of 2003. I like the new configuration better as we have more separation between the instruments. We're getting closer and closer to start real work on our next record. The tunes are all there, it's just a matter of finding time to really go at it. I personally hope to get most of the tracking done by the end of January. Anyway, enjoy the track. We may have time to do one more between now and the end of the holiday season, so if you have any ideas on what tunes to cover, let us know! Thanks and Happy Holidays! ------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: Here are the tracks from last year as well... CLICK ME -----> A little holiday music for you! **NOTE: The best way to hear this track is to right-click the above link (for you PC users) and choose "Save Target As" from the drop-down menu. Or you can just click the link and let the mp3 stream into your player. The mp3 is encoded at 190 kbps and the file size is about 7mb. EDIT: Ok, by request, here's two more holiday tunes for everyone. The first is another recorded by Joe, Randy and I in my basement this past weekend (no sax this time). The second was recorded last year during the "Boogaloo" sessions. Enjoy! CLICK ME 2 -----> More holiday music for you! CLICK ME 3 -----> Yet another piece of holiday music for you!
  14. *$%^ YOU! I assure you, you're the charlatan when it comes to listening, man. Might be time to follow the advice of your signature.
  15. You do know of the archive function, right Jim? I will also increase the PM size, since I'm always running out of room, too.
  16. At least he's not talking about the you-know-what thread.
  17. I got this in my inbox today....
  18. We are going to an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist on Monday. The neurologist cannot find anything wrong. Every test she's done has turned out normal. Since there is a weird strangling sensation in her throat, the neurologist thought he'd send us to the ENT. I am still researching other neurological clinics to try and get into. She is feeling ok lately, but today she's having a sort of "relapse". She worked too hard yesterday cooking, serving, etc.
  19. My wife and I entertained 19 people (so a total of 21 counting the two of us) plus Zora and my sister's two-week old, Sophia. We had a 26lbs. turkey, a spiral ham, mashed taters, sweet taters, stuffin', bean caserole, salad, lots of wine, deviled eggs, cheeses of all kinds, etc. etc. It was a lot of fun. I had a gig tonight which was fine but the best part of the day came around 5pm. Zora was getting tired and my sister was in Zora's nursery feeding and comforting little Sophia, so Zora and I went and laid down on my bed, her little head on my chest and we fell asleep together for an hour. I love her so! She awoke all refreshed and happy and so did I!
  20. I spell definitely wrong all the time. I don't know why. I'm a fairly decent speller, but that word always gets me.
  21. Maybe he fell prey to an undercooked turducken.
  22. Nothing like the stale beer and cigarettes odor... Maybe I'll cut off and include a piece of my organ moving cover in a limited edition CD/DVD combo. That thing has about 7 years worth of stanky cigs and beer odor in it that'll give enjoyment for a lifetime!
  23. I love stuffing of any kind. It can be the secret family recipe stuffing that we only get with turkey, or Stove-Top. I don't care. Stuffing is GOOD!
  24. Michigan State is gonna be tough this year.
