  1. Not around here. There are so many break-ins and thefts that the police here have said they cannot keep up. Our own Joe Gloss has been the victim of break-ins four times in the last two years. Both neighbors on either side of me have been hit in the last year. Another musician friend of mine had all his PA gear stolen out of his garage.
  2. The term "Nazi" is overused. I like Jazz Police better because that's what the guy did anyway; he called the cops on Ochs.

  4. Most car speakers have a rubber gasket in between the speaker frame and the car door frame to cut down on rattles. After 17 years these have probably disintegrated. Check that first, but new speakers are pretty cheap and not hard to install. Crutchfield is good for researching, but I wouldn't buy speakers from them; their prices are too high. Find what fits then buy it somewhere else. Speakers are only two wires; not hard to hook up. I spent $40 and put two new Pioneer speakers in my 1995 E150 van when I got it and that made a huge difference. The old speakers were falling apart and the gaskets were almost putty.
  5. I enabled the system. We'll see how it works; I might disable it again.
  6. The server had to be reset at one point today for a technical issue related to the transfer.
  7. How can you not like a prog band that is obsessed with wizards?
  8. I'll figure out how to stick it back in. The question is where since the upper right is now the member profile area.
  9. LOL! Dancing With Smurfs. Wow. I want to see it. I'm assuming the plot will be non-existent and piled high with gratuitous amounts of cheese, but it looks amazing. I like the ads that say 'movies will never be the same'. What the don't say is if that's a good or bad thing.
  10. Without knowing her, that's a tough one. Last big gift I gave my wife was an iPod Nano for our anniversary, which she loves. This year we're not getting anything for each other since we're broke. But we have a beautiful tree, a beautiful home, three beautiful daughters, and lots of great friends so I've got absolutely no complaints.
  11. Samples are on the Big O Records site: http://www.big-o-records.com/zen-cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20 I'm touched that people are enjoying the album. I originally planned to just make some CD-Rs for my family, since this is a very personal project. But some friends convinced me to go the distance on this one and I think it was the right move. I'll be curious if y'all have any favorite tracks. I've considered writing a short essay explaining the impetus behind each tune but I'm afraid that might take away from personal interpretations.
  12. Its just a reminder that this place is one big sausage party. But seriously, that's a good suggestion and I took care of it. I think that would mess with people's heads even more than an old thread because it would appear that a thread that was, say, five years old was suddenly at the top of the heap.
  13. I think we've already had this discussion, but the worst Christmas tune of all time is the one by Paul McCartney. Thankfully, I've only heard it once so far this year. Amazing.
  14. Ron was here around 4pm today according to the logs.
  15. Have you edited your hosts file at all? I have found that without defining the new IP of the site in my hosts file, I still get connection errors here and there. They seem to be less and less. I think it is just a matter of the new IP address being linked to organissimo.org on servers across the world. Why it is taking so long is beyond me. As fas as I know, everything is set up correctly. The only solution is patience. If this is still continuing next week, I will try to find some answers.
  16. Done. stupid questions - do we really want to have interests show up in every post? and: does the search function allow for searching for strings or ands? Good call. Took care of that.
  17. I'm still having trouble getting to the site 100% of the time without editing my hosts file. I think it is taking longer than normal for the domain servers to re-route everything. It should clear itself up soon. I don't think there is really anything I can do about the IE7 display issues. I've search the Invision support forums for clues but to no avail.
  18. To be clear, I'm not saying I'll turn this place into a pay-site. Rather I'm asking if some folks would prefer a subscription so they don't have to think about donating.
  19. Now that the software is upgraded, there is a subscription service available. I'm wondering how many of y'all might be interested in such a service so instead of me bugging you once a year to donate, it can just come out yearly or monthly or whatever. I don't have much to offer in return, but I would put a cool little graphic beneath your avatar that said something like "forum supporter!" so you can feel all cool. Opinions?
  20. I'm more concerned about this one (from the same page): I saw a report about this on 60 Minutes where the industry's talking head actually had the gall to exclaim that the rates hikes were justified because of the new bill. The bill doesn't even go into effect until Feb 2010 but rates go up immediately. Makes perfect sense. I am looking forward to the day when my wife and I have no credit cards. We're down to one.
  21. No, its probably still DNS issues. Keep trying. Or just paypal me $25. I just tried the site and at first I couldn't get anything, then I got to homepage and couldn't get to the store, then I couldn't get to the product. I just kept hitting refresh and it eventually got there. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. For some reason, that site has taken longer than any of the others for the DNS to propagate.
  22. You're assuming a man was involved.
  23. And I did several hours ago.
