1. Any speaker that puts out a decent amount of low end will have the same issue. Wish I had some suggestions, but without going into soundproofing and the like, not sure what options there are. I use to have a 31H tallboy Leslie in the corner of my apartment, on the wall that was shared with the neighbor's apartment. They used to bitch at me whenever I played the organ, but I never played very loud and I always played in the middle of the afternoon, so they couldn't really do anything about it.
2. Very sad to hear this. An incredibly underrated and under-recorded organist. RIP. Thanks for sharing those videos, Linda.
3. Thanks Bertrand! Coupon still valid! On any purchase over $20.
4. Nice article, RJ! Congrats!
5. I think the simplest explanation involves ghosts and faeries.
6. Well, we believe what we want to believe. That's why something like Scientology can exist. Good luck.
7. Lots of weird shit used to happen on the 100-year old non-working farm I grew up on in Mason, MI. Scary shit. Then again... my parents smoked a TON OF WEED when I was kid. I'm sure my siblings and I had a serious contact high going on at times. So although it's fun to reminisce when we get together and talk ghost stories, I don't take any of it very seriously. Human perceptions are prone to change or react due to our own expectations. Hearing noises while sleeping or falling asleep is not uncommon. I hear shit all the time while falling asleep. Voices, loud bangs, etc. Sometimes I get out of bed and make sure someone isn't trying to break into my house, which is a constant fear of mine (and so perhaps that fear is manifesting itself through my own senses as I make the transition from waking to dreaming). So far the sounds have never been anything real. My wife wakes up out of a dead sleep sometimes, sits straight up, and says "WHAT WAS THAT?" and it's nothing. Our brains are amazingly complex machines that sometimes do wacky things. Concerning the dogs, any changes in diet lately? It is true that they can sense when things aren't right. The seizure theory seems the most plausible to me. More plausible than "I've got evil spirits that suddenly decided to attack me and my family after several years of next to nothing happening." I mean, it's known now that even plants emit chemical signals to other plants when shit goes down. Dogs are tuned in to each other. Then again, what do I know?
8. Finally saw this tonight. The visuals are absolutely stunning. Within just a few minutes, after seeing the 2001-esque spaceship orbiting Pandora, I said aloud, "Oh hell yes, this is going to be cool." And it was. I won't go into the plot since it's already been tread over a million times (literally). Still a really cool movie and it makes me excited to see where this technology will go. I'm hopeful for more really cool sci-fi movies! Oh, and Sigourney Weaver kicks ass.
9. No, I don't have more than 4TB of data, but it probably won't be long before I do, especially as I keep recording albums and such. The thing I like about DLT is having one tape per project rather than everything bunched together on one massive drive (well, a RAID array of drives). I could also provide a tape to the artist for his/her own storage as well. The point is moot right now as I don't even have enough money at the moment to buy a harddrive that I can restore my lost partition to.
10. Seems like the cash outlay of buying 4 2TB drives plus the enclosure could be used to buy a DLT tape drive (360gb per tape capacity). As I mentioned, that's what a local professional studio uses and he has great results. Just recently he loaded a project stored on a 10 year old tape and it came up flawlessly.
11. Take $5 off any order over $20 now through St. Patrick's Day at the Big O Store. Just enter coupon code c5e1181c1e. http://www.big-o-records.com/zen-cart/
12. Very strange! I really don't have an answer for you except to try clearing out your cache.
13. On a PC you can press CTRL and use the mouse-wheel to increase or decrease text size. In Google Chrome, it saves the changes per tab.
14. I've been having a rather frustrating few weeks or so dealing with computers. As Randy will attest, it started with trying to fix his sister's PC. I won't go into gory details, but let's just say it was beyond my ability to fix. The other night one of my partitions went down on a drive in my music machine (DAW). Using a data recovery program, I can get the data back... that's not the issue. The issue is I have nowhere to put it where I feel it's safe. I could slap it on another harddrive. But as we all know, harddrives are not reliable, especially for long-term backup. I could put the data on DVD, but it's over 60GB worth of data. That's a lot of DVDs. I could buy a Blu-Ray burner and get 25GB per disc, but that's still a lot of discs and I don't really have faith in the reliability of the media (nor in DVDs for that matter). I need to back-up the original files for Greg's solo disc (about 40GB), my solo disk (about 20GB), the last organissimo studio disc (about 35GB), the new organissimo live disc (about 15GB), and probably another 200GB of random shit. The local professional studio uses DLT, but the cheapest DLT drives are upwards of $600 and the tapes are about $40 a pop. Expensive, though that seems to be the only stable format. I guess I'm at a loss at what to do and I'm looking for suggestions. On another note, I have two Sony DVD burners, one in my office machine and one in the DAW. The one in the DAW stopped burning discs about 2 years ago or more (after only having it for about a year). Now the one in my office machine has stopped burning discs. I barely used the damn things. And yet the 10 year old Plextor CD-burner in my office machine still works flawlessly. I hate cheap shit.
15. http://www.divshare....ad/10551657-b34 You almost had the code right, but thanks to you I figured it out. Just use the media tags. There you go! See if this one works, too.
16. I don't think the Beatles were at Abbey road in 1963.
17. Youtube videos can be embedded because there is special code in this software to deal with it. I don't think we have code for divshare.
18. Yes html posting is disabled because it's too risky. I don't get what you're trying to do. Are you trying to embed that link above? That's not a media file, it's just a link, so it's going to be treated as a link.
19. What version of what browser are you currently running? If it's Internet Explorer, you need to go to Windows Update (accessable in the Tools menu) to update to the latest version of IE.
20. Well, to test the media tags as a regular member, I logged in under my wife's account and posted the above. She's a regular member like you and as you can see, it works fine. So I don't know what to tell you. What is the link address of the file you're trying to embed?
21. There is only one media tag. It's
22. You need to update your browser.
23. You use the media tag around a weblink. In other words, the mp3 must be hosted on a site somewhere. Just like embedding an image (not attaching it).
24. A new video is up from the CD / DVD:
25. April 6th is the official release date. I plan to ship discs about a week before that.
