  1. Oh Jim - there's a beautiful B-3 (with a Hammond cabinet) down at Marshall's. Thought you might like to go over there and drool on it or somethin'.
  2. Jim, when do you think it will be out? Ballpark.... Ballpark? 2005.
  3. Probably! Actually, I'll do it for you. Whoa! You did that while I was on thread. Pulled the rug out from under me!
  4. This album had me ing.
  5. I have to admit; that opening question asked on this board... it's just too perfect! Better to be on the safe side, though.
  6. Knock it off, guys - you're going to make rachel, maren, and patricia jealous!
  7. Seriously, at a recent rehearsal they sat her down just like that, and out came this very interesting chord voicing! Then she held down a series of chord clusters, to which Randy and I played along freely with. Sounded like some lost late-60's Larry Young or something. B-)
  8. I thought this thread was about to die!
  9. Musicboy!
  10. I like this weather, too. The deep snow is beautiful. I filled up the birdfeeder out back, went around to the front of the house with the seed bag, and came back to see a bright red cardinal already perched there. I just hope this sticks around for a few weeks, instead of melting in a few days like the last snow we had.
  11. I remember a story in the local paper about a trumpeter (I don't know who - maybe Louis Smith?) who was cutting an older player while Coltrane happened to be in the audience. After the set, the guy greeted Trane, who said, "It ain't about making people look bad. It's about loving everybody." That was the gist of it, anyway.
  12. A guy with a plow just did most of my driveway for $10. Well worth it - I think I might have perished otherwise.
  13. Not WTF. WWE, formerly WWF. My bad.
  14. Oh my God, Sangrey. WTF is up with that guy!?!? I'd pay $15 at this point! I live on a main 3 lane artery, and the snowplows really did a number on the end of my drive. Ugh.
  15. We got socked pretty good. Jim and I had a horrible drive home from the gig. Took us about 1 1/2 hours to get to Sagautuck, and about 3 to get back. Partly due to a navigational error, but mostly due to incredibly bad and dangerous driving conditions. I was seriously considering what our survival options were if we ended up in the median! On the upside, maybe I'll get to do some skiing finally!
  16. It was moved to the "Re-issues" forum.
  17. Personal-historical footnote: this was the album that introduced me to the whole organ trio thang (Many thanks to Steve Frarey for that!)
  18. I got it from Doug and passed it onto you. Quote ll from b3-er I don't just think that; I KNOW it!
  19. That's the wise, reasoned version of what I was trying to say.
  20. Well, it only takes your whole life to learn this music!
  21. I enjoyed the hell out of it!
  22. F**k yes. Same with Ciconia.
  23. No, I don't believe there was any mention of Pat Metheny, probably the most popular jazz guitarist in the world (among other things). But then again, where any guitarists mentioned in that series?
  24. It's a tough crowd in here.
