  1. Mike - just wondering if you've delved further into the dvds...
  2. I think you made a fine choice with the chrome on black.
  3. Re: the pickups: I'm with you fellars!
  4. No doubt. You don't want people chuckling to themselves at the pivitol scene in the movie that's supposed to lock Vader in to the dark side. It was cheesy as hell. Other than that, I thought it was pretty good, considering what Lucas had to work with (and work against). I like all the stuff at the end that sets up what is now called A New Hope. They even found an actor that looks like Peter Cushing to appear on the bridge of a destroyer. I felt like I was back in the 70's for a minute. :rsmile:
  5. I never knew!
  6. I grew up listening to those guys, too. It would seem like Dave must have liked that music, otherwise how would he even end up in that company?
  7. You mean you're not enlightened yet? Wake up, man!
  8. I wondered about that the first time I saw him with Remember Shakti. I could barely understand him when he spoke, whereas Zakir Hussein sounded almost American.
  9. I like the "outline" feature at the top of the page. Very handy for finding a post.
  10. Only a nut like you would notice that, CJ.
  11. I saw the first when it came out... loved it!
  12. I never, in a million years, would have thought to put those three together. I like Bela, but I'm not overly optimistic about this trio. Could be wrong, though.
  13. god don't get me started on Green Shit. They're about as punk as I am black. Sellout wankers. Going corporate and raking in the cash is the new punk.
  14. What about Funky President? :rsmile: Seriously, don't forget "There It Is!" Layin' in the cut!!
  15. Nice to hear from you!
  16. I assume you're talking about Part l... I was delighted to hear Rodby playing an uptempo walking bassline as well. The unison line played by the trumpet and guitar is a kick, too. I think my favorite moment is in part 2, where they come out of those chord arpeggios into the melody played by the harmonica (forshadowing the end with Richard Bona's vocals), then playing the same melody but switching to 5 underneath. Pretty cool music there.
  17. Sorry, dude. I'll use less saccharine and more sarcasm in the future.
  18. I just realized that your thread subtitle says, "announced", rather than "pronounced". I thought you were giving me some pronunciation advice on the word "Zooma".
  19. You mean before someone goes ?
  20. Noted. Thanks for the tip!
  21. And we're blessed to have some documentation of that.
  22. It's not just you.
  23. Beh... who needs it?
  24. Don't know if you were aware that Metheny did an album with Larry Goldings. Mike Brecker was the leader; it's called Time is of the Essence.
