  1. Bought this about 6 years ago (the Japanese version) because I was convinced with that line-up it had to be a great disc. I was staying with friends that night and they let me use their stereo to play it when they turned in for the evening. I remember now how much I loved it at first listen; just the contrasting sounds of Rivers and Shorter (the first solo by Shorter always reminds me, for some reason, of his solo on 'Country Son') on 'Extras'. Oddly though it's been a while since I last heard it ( a year maybe). As with all the other AOTW selections I will have to get back onto this album. Very good choice.
  2. It's good, but the dialogue at times is impossible to catch... ← My bro in-law should be OK then ; he's from a satellite suburb, south of London
  3. thanks anyway Jim, I've obviously missed it then. Need that next album.
  4. Forgive me, but what time is that in GMT?
  5. just bought it for my brother in-law as part of his brithday gift. He's a big fan of 'Snatch' and 'Lock, Stock...' so I guess he'll enjoy it. I haven't seen it (I will) but i'm hoping that the dialogue isn't as mockney-cockney-apples & pears as the other films. Daniel Craig is a brilliant actor though and that chick looks purdy
  6. Can we all post a screenshot of where we all live, from a mile or so up of course and only for those who want to disclose their location? Or will this take up too much bandwidth?
  7. That is very cool. Thanks
  8. Thank you for that John. Me and my little lad will attempt to recreate that tomorrow with a Dodge Charger and some old Police cars I find myself driving his cars like that in the old oversteery fashion. Actually I find myself just driving like that
  9. Good luck John. You'lll feel like a nomad for a few weeks while you settle in but then it's exciting getting to know the new area. Hope all goes (has gone) well.
  10. Hi all. Back after an enforced asence due to laptop meltdown. Anyhow, now fully loaded with new Dell desktop --- all the gear, no idea..... So I'm just wondering after scouring the iPod Lounge fora (forums) if it's worth just continuing to manually synch my iPod or to copy using the said program all of my iPod's contents to my new PC. Of course, everything in the old PCs iTunes folder was lost and I had been using autosynch. If anyone has had bad experiences with this program please let me know. Thanks guys.
  11. It is a bit worrying when some old folk couldn't run up the stairs quick enough to beat the rising water. There's one guy who's a friend of a friend who has lost 350 sheep. Eeek. As of last night he hadn't found them. no Bo-Peep jokes please
  12. On Sunday (28 deg C and very humid) we arrived home to find our normally calm stream up onto the road perilously close to our house. Over a months worth of rain (a lot in the UK) had fallen in less than one and a half hours. Some villages on the other side of the moors watershed had major problems. I had travelled through these places on Saturday twice (once on my bike in the am, and again in the motor late that evening). I had slowed a couple of times to remind myself of how beautiful they are. Then the flashfloods occured. link
  13. Just taken the long version of that test Not bad result. I was secretly hoping for him or Clinton
  14. Which world leader are you?
  15. Is it the classic shape you are after Peter? I'm not sure what they retail at over there but you can get a new (old shape) one for about £2000 over here. Are Lambrettas as good, or better? Have you tried eBay?
  16. will do, cheers
  17. Right, now I've downloaded that driver from Nero, ran the program again with the above box unchecked and the DC is recognised but it's still telling me I haven't selected any tracks for ripping
  18. I'm trying that search as we speak......
  19. On the above screen, when configuring, the labelled window '2' should be unchecked if you use Windows XP, which I do. BUT if I uncheck it it tells me on a pop up that the driver wnaspi32.dll failed to load. If I continue with it unchecked then It doesn't recognise ANY disc I put in the drive I did uninstall the default player that the CP wants you to run bTW. If the above driver failed to upload, should I go about it all again?
  20. I remember you saying this before Claude; I do have a DVD drive but not a CD-R drive, I thought you had wangled it using the DVD drive. Thanks for responding fellas edited for NOT a CD-R drive sorry....
  21. I'm making some progress with the CDex that was recommended a while back with regard to the Copy Protected European Blue Notes; I've managed to install that and the LAME function (which I believe is necessary too) and I'm now at the stage were upon inserting the disc (CD) it is reading from the CDDB to get track/album info etc., BUT it's telling me that I'm not selecting tracks for ripping. I've followed this page to the letter, but it's that final stage which is stopping me progress. If I click on the 3rd icon down (on the left hand toolbar) nothing happens, if I click on the one above (Extract CD tracks to Compreesed Audio File(s)), that's when it tells me I haven't selected any tracks. I'm highlighting 'all tracks' to rip but is there something I'm missing here? If you can help I'd greatly appreciate it, my collection of CP BNs and other new rock albums is growing and I can't get them on t'iPod Thanks in anticipation
  22. It does bear a passing resemblance doesn't it Do you Stateside guys get 'Little Bill' which is based on some books by Bill Cosby? The tunes that accompany the cartoon are all played by Mike Brecker, John Faddis (I think) and some other stars, can't remember who now. We get a cartoon called 'Kipper' which has some pretty nice 5 piece band playing to the show. My little lad has been a big fan of all these shows luckily....before the Power Rangers bug bit hard.
  23. Yep. Had Jack Johnson screaming loud yesterday afternoon for at least two CD repeats. Followed it up with a splash of Bitches Brew. Another one is Freddie Hubbard's First Light, the title track. My favorite song to start the day. ← Some of that box set material just needs to be timber shaking; it's so well recorded too you can wallow in the barrage of sound. Another Hub one: Sraight Life
  24. That makes me a bit ill when I see it to that extent.
