  1. Wasn't Paris Hilton blind-folded in hers?
  2. Tim Berne with Craig Taborn and Tom Rainey are in town this weekend. I've never seen Tim Berne live but know he can cook it up. This group has a recent release as well. Some freak out going on the samples here (a couple recorded up in ann arbor): screwgun. Looking for a take on this trio from the all knowing ears. Thanks.
  3. Easy on the grease in that recipe next time! Happy Birthday Big AL! (cake comes with an mp3 of MacArthur Park)
  4. from the alps to the green mountains and down to the snow by the sea. thanks, flubu.
  5. What irks me about the whole smooth jazz stereotype is that these are now amongst it!
  6. Did not see this thread when I posted my redundancy at the same time in the "jazz in print..." forum (it is jazz and it is in print) and have since deleted it per request of deus62. Much better w/ the pics. Since folks' hairs have been crossing their asses about all thats copyright-able I chose to go w/ the link.
  7. wasn't it JimR who put up that "Happy Birthday to Everybody!" thread? so Happy Birthday to JimR and everybody!
  8. the other is the leslie mouse - this would be that future mickey you speak of:
  9. Curious to any opinions or discussion on this nearly latest release by Frisell. I sampled a bit and from what I hear it sounds rather nice in that it harkens back to those early days of "Is that You?" and such. Seeing that this took the top Grammy, not that that should account for anything, has me interested.
  10. tsk, tsk, don't go selling yerself so short here. your'e just sandbaggn' for #29 ain'tcha. I too enjoy reading each and every comment posting, whenever it's posted. I even read the threads when I decided to take a time out from a couple of these. All about sharing our love of the art.
  11. Guilty as well and have recently deleted a thread in LF myself. We can certainly all fly under the radar.
  12. now we know how he keeps that nappy glow! WHAT IS TRULY AMAZING IS THAT HE CAN SLURR W/ THE KEYBOARD.
  13. I did some perusing and listened to a bit of "Shake". Sounds very interesting. I do see that there are vocals here? In abundance?? That only flies so far for me. I did check a bit of Vijay Iyler and Mike Ladd on iTunes. That was good to here just once maybe. Then again I must be compulsive to such modernity as I saw your signature as saying: "Brought to you through the courtney love"
  14. well I clicked that one as well. mike ladd? who!? might need to as my poo-pooing of Shipp's last one "Harmony and Abyss" is beginning to smell a bit better. che, I urge you to try Shipp's "Equilibrium". NOW! Has some of that techno to it but it's real... just like them dancers that just jumped on top of my speakers.
  15. I cut the heads off of many people for that one. Do you think it was worth it? let 'em roll! makes it even more endearing knowing that.
  16. that's a beaut!!!! "nicedriveway" as they say.
  17. Yeah, especially that special camera that can cast white reflections under blue objects. Funny they look like this on mine.
  18. sorry i forgot the smileys. i heartily agree, Lon ... and thats "konszonanzntz" for all the Poles now offended.
  19. these Miro sans Helvetica:
  20. you know them artsy fartsy dudes. never satisfied, always complaining. it seems a bit unbalanced. but "what would reid do?" more consonants, more consonants!
  21. nice thread going here. just now looked. deus - top notch cover and all for the basie live roulettes. did you construct that icon for the montoliu cover...? nice! like them brasilian links ... lots of saul bass in the amazon. john, some of those old arty polish covers from a couple years ago were great inspiration.
  22. makes my ass laugh too but my kids always yell at me when that happens.
  23. Thank God it didn't get into the sewer system ... no telling what those things are capable of when they multiply!
