Funny to hear how many here haven't broken a bone...yet! IF I broke one, it was just a minor crack, perhaps that time I came down the steps too fast and had my big toe under my foot.
Now, back in the day, I recall being a bit of a pyro, and thought around the age of 5 that making a paper airplane, lighting it on the stove, and throwing it, damn, that would be cool! Of course, the kitchen had a back door, but to throw a paper airplane, at night would be best out the front door where there was a steep hill(Gliding paper airplane on fire, oh man!) Didn't quite make it to the front door. It stuck to my hand. Burned my thumb, and index finger. Big blister on my thumb, that grossed out girls after it broke.
I remember that same steep hill being really cool to slide down on a cardboard box, sometimes you could make it all the way to the small concrete creek shaped like this \__/. Never hurt myself doing that, but another time, I tried to jump over the creek, jumped too soon. Hit this part / of the creek with both knees! ow! Both knees were bleeding, but somehow didn't crack my kneecaps! Those jeans really cushioned the blow! Kept playing as well. I remember running down the a hill, falling, somersaulting, and landing back on my feet! Never a camera around when you do that. Jumped off fairly high back porches of apartments with my friends, over, and over again. It was into dirt at least. Remember my friends thinking it was cool to jump backwards off the front steps (4-5 of them) Hurt myself a few times doing that. Don't know why my Dad thought I was an idiot anytime I was caught doing that.
IF I ever have kids, a literal short leash till they are about 25...how I didn't break my neck is beyond me. Of course, 20-25+ years down the road, I have had to have back surgery, wrist surgery, and ankle surgery.
