I've heard a rumor that I refuse to believe. Anyone have any news? I'll take no news as good news.

    Positive vibes.
  5. I haven't been holding it...since January 1, 2005!
  6. TBR Anderson, Willie Detroit Jazz Before Motown, 1945-53 Please?!
  7. The Monterose/Flanagan did come out on CD evenutally. But if it's vinyl you seek...
  8. Unfortunately, I don't have a list either. But "Dameronia" is indeed a nice one. Others I have: Pepper Adams, Live at Fat Tuesday's Dickie Wells, Lonesome Road Carl Fontana, Great Fontana Haywood Henry, Gentle Monster JR Monterose, Live in Albany JR Monterose and Tommy Flanagan, A Little Pleasure Hod O'Brien, Bits and Pieces (Uptown?) Freddie Redd, Lonely City Charlie Rouse, Social Call Buddy Tate - (Didn't note title) Frank Wess and Johnny Coles, Two at the Top I think this information is correct. It's what I noted when I digitized the LPs for my MP3 player, so typos are possible.
  9. In my dreams, I'm sneaking out of here and dashing over to Smalls to see Ethan Iverson, Tootie Heath and Cocoran Holt. In my dreams, my boss isn't catching me sneaking out of here. Heck, in my dreams, I'm also going to see Sweet Papa Lou at the Vanguard. Ah, dreams!
  10. I'm up every morning at 2:00AM, give or take 30 minutes*. It's my reading and working (overtime) time. I've made a promise to myself to avoid doing anything online until 7:30AM or so. If I can do it, I'll include some music/listening. When I was principally a musician, 3:00AM was my go-to-bed time. Well, I'm adaptable... * Yes, even when I'm making 12-time zone changes.
  11. Thank you. All it required was knowledge of American history overlaid with some "common" sense. No wonder I was stumped.
  12. I've got a job coming up in the Birmingham area. So I'm looking around for places to stay. There's a Blount County, and the Blount name on a bunch of other geographic points. Okay. The place is named after Governor Willie Blount of Tennessee who provided assistance to settlers in Alabama during the Creek War of 1813-14. Fair enough. But so I'm thinking about Birmingham native, Sonny Blount/Sun Ra/Le Sony'r Ra. Poking around, trying to find a connection back to the Governor or maybe to a place name. Just a coincidence? Seems unlikely. Don't have my Sun Ra bio at-hand, and not finding an easy answer on the web. Wikipedia tells me he was named after the popular vaudeville stage magician Black Herman (Benjamin Rucker), so that gets me the given first name. And so I turn to the Org'niss'mo Boards. Any knowers? Need help to avoid tossing an turning all night in that Motel 6 bed, pondering the meaning.
  13. Sounds like what I WANT for my birthday!
  14. Birthday greetings from Central & Jefferson, Downtown Phoenix. (If my memory is faulty and you've never even BEEN to Phoenix, attribute it to the fact that I've had too many birthdays.)
  15. Fundamental answer to your question is "I'm vegan" (32 years), so yes, I'm watching. But more importantly, I'm watching my food to make sure I get some diversity and reasonable nutritional balance. Vegetarian and vegan diets can be gawdawful unhealthy, especially as practiced by people mainly or exclusively interested in animal rights.
  16. I hope you have a wonderful birthday!
  17. Wherever you are...
  18. One more time!
  19. Happy birthday! I hope it's a great one.
  20. Batumi: 50ish and rainy. Good night to stay in and listen.
  21. Well, you ain't dead yet...
  22. It's that Happy tıme agaın. Enjoy!
  23. Perfect autumn weather in Baku Azerbaijan
