  1. Who knows, It appears the reduced price was only on Amazon so I'm inclined to believe some algorithm caused it to drop unbeknownst to Sunnyside whom I would assume have a wholesale price for orders.
  2. Disappointing but unfortunately that has happened time and time again. The one recent success I can think of it the Black Art Jazz Collective.
  3. I'll buy anything by Gonzo. The wonderful Anthony Braxton - Sextet (Parker) 1993 complete set from a fellow member and I got the new album from James Brandon Lewis - An Unruly Manifesto which I've spun 3 times since Friday
  4. The CD is limited? Where is the #? Or are you talking Vinyl
  5. If you can PM me a link I'll clean it for you. Always happy to use my engineering degree I never use.
  6. This is info I've been hoping to find. I don't have Muses and have passively been looking for it. I'll keep looking but glad to have this set.
  7. The Jazz Mentality - Show Business Is My Life Unsurprisingly Chris Potter is outstanding on this.
  8. The AMH Trio - Live @ Field & Frame Alan Lechusza - bari sax, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto sax Mark Weaver - tuba Harris Eisenstadt - drums
  9. When i put it in my Mac it says: You inserted a black CD. Choose an action from the pop-up menu or click ignore. Windows media plays showed tracks and playing times but would try to rip but every time there was an error. I really believe the cd was finalized at one time. this CD is from 2000.
  10. I'll try this tomorrow. You are correct about .cda files. That was all I could see. Thanks! XLD didn't work.
  11. Trio Jeepy. What a fascinating and beautiful album. I love the way the album starts with Housed From Edward and its understated introduction.
  12. Thanks Shrdlu I'll try Winamp. Not worried about being out a little money for this cd. Something that is rare and it wasn't much money. I would like to hear the tunes though. I believe it was finalized in the past, I have seen the "not finalized" error before.
  13. On a Bird kick, I don't know why this is 2 discs though
  14. I've tried everything from iTunes, to Toast, Windows Media Player, to opening the disc in the search and copying the files directly as "data"
  15. I did some searching but couldn't find anything. So here is the dilemma. I bought an album that doesn't play in any cd player I own (3 separate units including my car), my external disc drive on my Mac, my MacBook Pro (when I had a similar issue with a Miles Mosley in the past the MacBook Pro worked) or a PC or my playstation. My Mac and MacBook both see the disc as blank and the cd players either blank or error. Lastly the PC read the data but I received an error every time I tried to rip it. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this music off the disc?
  16. I was referring to owning the right for perpetuity including the compositions if I remember correctly. I don’t have the book on hand. Have you read the book to know the scenario we are referring?
  17. Yes I agree. I was disappointed to hear that. I do wish they actually said how much they had to pay Steeplechase. He may have just seen it as a chance to “stick it to the big label” and wasn’t anything against Dexter. Those Steeplechase contracts sounded like a horrible one for the artist though.
  18. I finished it this morning. More insightful as you go... a little I suppose. There is a lot of “I believe” or “in my opinion” which I personally don’t consider insight. And per this book Dexter loved every drummer he played with. Haha. It was a good read, the last couple chapters the best which makes sense since Maxine was present. Worth picking up, but will pass on instead of keeping for a reread.
  19. Frank Loesser was also a time traveler since he was singing about Rohypnol way before it existed...
  20. I'm a little more than 100 pages in. The timeline jumps around and there is an ample amount of repeating in all chapters thus far. Still a worthy read. Maxine interjects personal proclamations that I could live without but it is a fascinating read regardless. Crazy how much of the scene Dexter lived in overlapped with the scene Horace Tapscott fostered in. Connected by a band director in high school.
