What live music are you going to see tonight?
jcam_44 replied to mikeweil's topic in Live Shows & Festivals
Patrick Shiroishi solo Baritone and Alto Saxophone, Tashi Dorji solo electric guitar and Makoto Kawashima solo alto saxophone. I left before they played as a trio since I had to working the next morning but Makoto was worth the sleep deprivation and trip alone. What an incredible artist he is. -
Gary Clark Jr - This Land

Bobby Bradford "Stealin' Home" on Jackie Robinson

Thanks for the heads up! I try to catch Bobby any time I can. The 29th date conflicts with the Makoto Kawashima concert I'm going to but I should be able to catch another date or two. -
Fascinating. Thanks for the link to this process I had not been aware of.

Teddy Edwards - Feelin's Nice spin for a Sunday morning.

I was not expecting that bio... I think you’re correct about it being the weirdest.

Sonny Rollins - The Bridge Finally got my new (to me) turntable up and running and spinning a disc I got on vacation last month. Beautiful sound from both. I was fortunate to find an original pressing, which looked barely played for $8 in Tuscon NM. I feel that was a good price, maybe just a fair price, but I am over the moon about my new turntable. Only kink left to fix is the return action of the tone arm.

Lonnie Holley - Mith it doesn't get more pivotal than this

Basically its taking iTunes and breaking it up. All the music will be on one app, including your personal library, podcasts in another. I'm assuming video/movies in a third. Makes sense, given the death of the iPod which housed all three. Your phone already breaks it up.
-
I've received scratched cd's and I've had people try to lie about condition. General rule for me is if they say its scratched I'll request they return it.
-
I'm going to try and catch Marcus at the end of May while were on vacation in SF.

On the desktop the info is very easy to search, sort, and gives you the ability to pull some data.
-
Collectorz pulls the basic info from discogs usually. By that I mean label, year, song title ans length of available. I add artists, instruments, where it was recorded and media type. How much I paid and where I bought it too. It’s easy since once you add a detail it will auto pop next time you start typing it, which saves time. I also usually change the artwork to a higher resolution. The app doesn’t have as much detailed info but I do everything on my desktop and sync it with my app every couple of months.
-
If your looking to sell your collection then collectorz isn’t really the organizer for you unless you want it to catalog your sales. There are details to add that information.
-
I’ve been using collectorz for a long time. It’s worth the price.

What rock music are you listening to? Non-Jazz, Non-Classical.
