  1. a couple more titles added
  2. Was able to catch The Gavin Templeton Quartet on Wed. Best show I've seen in a loooooooong time. Blew Logan Richardson out of the water, as well as when I recently saw Greg Osby. Gavin with Joshua White on piano (absolute MONSTER), Richard Giddens on Bass and Gene Coye on Drums. Outstanding!!!!
  3. Saw Logan Richardson on Saturday. Pretty good set, only got to stay for the first one. Wasn't completely happy with the mix, guitar was way to loud. Logan was buried at times. Tommy Crane was on drums and that man was insane! Oh and should be going to Gavin Templeton on Wed. For his album release. He's a fantastic performer, I saw him a couple years ago with Vinny Golia and immediately bought his catalog. And as a bonus Joshua White will be on piano and he is fantastic as well.
  4. I've had music go missing from iTunes, but the ripped files are still located in my iTunes library folder. I don't know how apple could delete the files off your hard drive. They can't arbitrarily delete files from a hard drive.
  5. I will pick up additional copies of stuff I find that is rare to supplement my buying habit. All copies in great shape, no promo marks. All prices include shipping in the US Bobby Bradford - Live at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art SOLD Mike Taylor Quartet - Pendulum SOLD William Parker & The Little Huey Creative Music Orchestra - Mayor of Punkville SOLD Richie Cole - New York Afternoon - $25 cd version features Eddie Jefferson on a couple songs. William Parker & The Little Huey Creative Music Orchestra ‎– Flowers Grow In My Room - $25
  6. Very nice. Glad to see the project is done, let me know when its going to be available to us
  7. Wadada Leo Smith and Vijay Iyer last night. Wonderful way to spend a Saturday night
  8. Has anyone else been disappointed by new Blue Note releases? This for me goes back a ways but I started thinking about it again while listening to the new Marcus Strickland album I got today. I think I'm only missing one of Marcus' releases and this was the least satisfying on first listen. Which was also the case with Takuya Kuroda's Blue Note debut after 3 extremely solid indie releases. To a lesser extent, the Jason Moran "All Rise" which I absolutely enjoy, and feel that Jason captured Fats with a unique and beautiful tribute that was still decidedly Moran, I was still left wondering if part of this release had "label direction". On a side note, I think what they've done for Gregory Porter and other vocalists, outstanding. Anyone else have similar feeling?
  9. This is incredible!
  10. If I recall, I picked up most of these for similar prices.
  11. I'm planning on going to see this sometime this coming week. I personally have higher expectations for this than the Miles pic.
  12. agree. I'm heading to amoeba tomorrow and hoping to pick up her new disc. She's not the soloist of depth, IMO, but compositionally I enjoyed her playing. I think the trio setting suits her as well.
  13. Too many vocal tracks or I would have been all over this.
  14. John Handy - Mosaic Select I picked this up very inexpensively and have listened continuously for the past 3 days during my commute. Beautiful stuff.
  15. Joel Futterman/Kidd Jordan Quintet - Nickelsdorf Konfrontation Kidd Jordan Quartet - New Orleans Festival Suite Finally pulled the trigger on a couple Kidd albums I've been eyeing for years
  16. Completely underwhelming and the sound quality is subpar even for a tape recorder.I wouldn't recommend this unless you're a completist or find it for a good buy.
  17. I have the other three so there probably is a good chance I'll get this, but even with the 3rd one I wasn't excited about it. This one doesn't have me excited in a way other releases do.
  18. PM sent on Lee Morgan Live at the Lighthouse
  19. Charles Gayle - Tenor Saxophone,Piano William Parker - Bass Hamid Drake - Drums Another Charles release coming Jan 21st. Semi-looking forward to this one. About half of Charles playing is on Piano, and though at times I enjoy his piano playing, in this ensemble I would prefer him on tenor.
  20. Charles Gayle - Tenor Saxophone Buell Neidlinger - Bass John Bergamo - Drums Looks like this was released a few weeks ago. Recorded at John Bergamo's home on a tape recorder in 1965. Can't wait to hear pre-Homeless (Silkheart) Charles.
