Sad news...saw him play several times. He played at a la jazz institute event last year and did a nice interview along side Candido. He was using oxygen on/off but appeared to be holding his own other than that. m

Freddie Hubbard Tribute @ the Jazz Kitchen in Indy....with Derrick Gardner, Clifford Ratliff, Pharez Whitted, Mike Hackett and Pat Harbison.....some great Freddie tunes in the hometown of Freddie...should be fun. m

...save your money on the Kurt Ellling show....saw this as part of the Portland Jazz Fest....cheesy to be sure!

...no but I did pick up "Love Train: The Sound of Philadelphia"...very nice. m

Hi Chuck...I don't know Steve but I'm sure we bumped into each other a few times as the place was pretty crowded and standing room only for most of the three days I was there. They shot a ton of video as well...I hope much of the music and video make it out one of these days very soon. m

..as you mention, part of the DBOT. I've seen him many times...mostly on b3, once or twice on piano. Great player... a funny cat and great live. Catch him if you can. m
