  1. ....not a bad group of guys....those were the days, indeed! Mark~
  2. I think back in Barry's non-steroid days he was exciting to watch....now he bats a few times a game a few days a week, provides very little excitement on the base paths or in field....not really that exciting (to me). m~ Non-steroids day...? I wasn't aware there was any proof to that effect. Besides, he's 42 years old and with bad knees. Anybody would slow done at that point. For the record, Bonds was MVP seven times before being accused. My point is that he is (currently) not exciting to watch, not that he is 42 with bad knees....a blind man can see that...(no offense to any of you that are blind). I would agree he was exciting to watch at one time....that time is no longer (to me). There are too many good, young (and old) players playing today to get excitied watching Barry. You will have as many people (or more) dissapointed when he breaks the record than will give a sh*t. m~
  3. Thanks for stopping by!
  4. Thanks MG, I'll try to look him up.....Porcy, not sure what to say about your reply except thanks for taking the time to respond!!!
  5. ....that's not a real recent photo of Jon!
  6. I'll be in Baltimore on business for a few days in May (22-23). I think we are going to dinner at Shula's and an Orioles game on Wednesday night...anything of interest jazz-wise that I should know about that I may be able to see on Tuesday evening??? I've been there a time or two and I know there is some live jazz in DC but not sure I'll have the time to get there. I'm staying at the Marriott Inner Harbor @ Camden Yards and have done the harbor scene...anything else??? Thanks Mark~
  7. I saw them this past October in LA.....bad ass band!!!
  8. I have a rather pricey professional Epson printer and it just makes killer prints.....the only drag is that it has 12 ink cartridges . They make a very well respected line of pro printers. m~
  9. maybe i should bring a slab or two. group are the only free jazz ensemble working today who wear stage uniforms. They perform clad in t-shirts from Ruby's Barbecue Restaurant in Austin Texas. Ingebrigt Haker-Flaten, Paal Nilssen-Love, Mats Gustafsson in Austin, Texas November 18, 2005 ...saw them about a year ago with Joe McPhee....nice!!! I think only one of them had the bbq shirt on?

  11. I've seen the band a few times and they are always great (to my ears)!!! Wish they were coming close to Indy...didn't know they were in Lansing...may have been able to make the trip! Derrick is indeed fantastic!!! He was in Indy several weeks ago to play with Rob Dixon....killer! m~
  12. ....I'm in.....staying with Jazzshrink and keeping the bathroom door closed!
  13. They are performing in Indianapolis in the next few weeks. Sad news!
  14. HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
  15. Thanks to all for the kind words and well wishes! Thanks to Rob for the penis cake and ass scratching cartoon...very nice! I'll have to keep that door closed on our next jazz trip! Gina found it funny as well!!! I spent the last two nights at the Jazz Kitchen with Slide Hampton...with one night to go. Spent a big chunk of today with my family. I thought I had a party to go to tomorrow and instead I went out to an early dinner tonight only to find about 30 friends and family members there....big surprise and lots of fun! Here is a photo of Slide blowing out candles on his b-day cake! Thanks again to all! m~
  16. Here are a few images from tonights Slide Hampton show in Indy with Phil Ranelin and Steve Davis. Nice show with a couple originals, a couple blues and a few standards. JJ's wife was in attendance as well....beautiful version of Lament. Spoke to Phil for a while between sets. Told me a little about his recent crash and recovery. The dude looks great! Mark~
  17. This is how my co-workers and I stand around at the office!
  18. Hi Erik, have a GREAT Birthday!!!
  19. I would go, better safe than sorry. I had two front teeth dislodged in a baseball game several years ago...literally almost out of the socket with a big split through my lip and a crack in the roof of my mouth. Although my appears to be more extreme that yours, they wired my teeth and all is well. I went white water rafting the following day which was not the best thing to do. I never thought I would be able to chew/bite with my front teeth but all is good. m~
  20. Indianapolis...hmm...I'm thinking Ab major? Sounds like a great weekend, Mark! Please tell us about it (with pictures if possible!). Like you won't be getting pictures ... ...oh yeah, don't want to forget a camera~
  21. The Pulitzer is basically a journalism prize that grew into a literary prize and now music. Classical composers were recognized first and eventually jazz. WOW, is this better than a grammy......
