It chewed through the wood window frame upstairs (and most of the way through mine). But the nonprofit upstairs is still stuck with a hole chewed straight through the window (the landlord never fixes anything regardless of severity or urgency). Now that makes more sense....I've seen some crazy squirrels including one that ate himself to death and died next to a consumed 40 lb. bag of sunflower seeds in my garage dead with all fours in the air!....but not one that could eat through glass! m~ At 1:17AM I tend to fogive myself for saying "the window" when I mean more specifically "the window frame". I forgive you as well. BTW, your photo from Vision Fest is going out tomorrow....thank god the squirrel is gone! m~

Mosaic prints of Francis Wolff photos
sheldonm replied to The Magnificent Goldberg's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Info on those particular prints was sent out in an email a couple days ago.....here http://www.mosaicrecords.com/photosearch.asp?search=52 is a link to the other photos on the Mosaic site. m~ And nary a Jackson, Wilkerson or Willette among them - just those commercial people MG I have dozens of these prints in various sizes, bought before they changed to the ink jet prints (which are very nice and archival as well). At that time, they told me they would basically print anything that I could find that Francis shot? May be worth giving them a call. Most likely they don't want to list everthing he shot....hell I wouldn't list everything I have shot. I have a nice big print of Jimmy Smith that was used on the Mosaic set that I had Jimmy sign...very cool. He was under the weather that night and a "little" grouchy! m~ >edited for spelling -
Jan, you're telling a squirrel chewed through glass? What do you take us for ??? m~

Hi Von, you'll find many fans of West Coast Jazz and your Dad on Organissimo. Love those Nocture recordings as well. Stick around and post when you can. Mark~

Jazz and the Black Audience
sheldonm replied to garthsj's topic in Jazz In Print - Periodicals, Books, Newspapers, etc...
That matches my own very limited experience in Bloomington & Indianapolis--it still retains a following, but mostly among older listeners who grew up in the 1950s, 60s, or 70s. Also have very limited radio-demographic evidence to back this up, but there seems to be more of an African-American audience--younger, anyway--for smooth jazz rather than straightahead/classic. I've made this observation many times in Indy. m~ -
....no

do you have their 'kismet' vinyl? With the Montgomery brothers being from Indy, I've always been a fan. I got a chance to hear/photograph Buddy playing piano in the afternoon and vibes in the evening a while back....nice! ....a fan of everything Montgomery....even Elizabeth Montgomery m~

Here are a few photos from the last time I saw Johnny. Although he didn't play this night he had the crown in stitches with his stories! m~
