  7. I think I'll open a "halfway house" in about 23 days...maybe she'll need a place to stay for a while
  8. ...probably not going to get Sonny Rollins in for $5.00 per day! I have heard the festival was pretty good some time ago but haven't attended myself. If I lived near by, I'd take a chance for $5.00.
  9. Oh Man, Roger Freed, is that name ever a blast from the past!!! Any old timey Cards fans remember him? Quincy? He became a bit of a cult hero back in the late 70's, with his best year being 1977, when in only 83 at bats he hit 5 Homers, drove in 21 and hit .398. This was back when the Cards hit no home runs outside of Ted Simmons.(He hit 21 that year, 4 more than anyone else!) Can you imagine today having a pitch hitter in the NL hit nearly .400 and only getting him 83 AB's??? He died back in 1996 at the age of 49..... ...saw him play several times. Been a Cards fan since my sister moved there in 1966. Spent most summers of my childhood in Busch staduim...still see about 20 games a year. m~
  10. I've seen Tony live a bunch of times and he puts on a great show....great showman indeed...but a wonderful player as well. Fun to photograph as well.....unlimited facial expressions....crazy~ We discussed doing a photo shoot a month or so ago and he was telling me about his surgery.....a complete success. If you've seen him, you probably noticed he walks with a cane most of the time....he had a pretty serious procedure and he is on the mend...no cane, in great spirits....one nice guy! m~
  11. Have a GREAT Birthday, Larry
  12. Happy Birthday from a fellow Hoosier!!!
  13. I heard an interview with him a couple months ago and he said "I can't go to jail, I'll pay a million dollars to stay out"....apparently this didn't work out too well. m~
  14. Very interesting, thanks for posting, Allen!
  15. ...not to poke holes in the article but you can count the guys throwing 101 mph fastballs on a regualr basis on one hand.....now back to the debate!!! m~
  16. ...it's starting to feel as though there may be no resolution to this conflict~
  17. Mark, if I only visited one location, which would you recommend (looking for vinyl, specifically)? I'm not sure you'll find any real valuable treasures but JRM would most likely be the place as they at the very least have a large selection. Dusty has a smaller selection but the ease you can go through them makes it better for me. JRM to me is just a mess....it's really been that way for years but when they moved to a smaller location, it has worsened. I'm not an expert on vinyl so my means take my recs on that with a grain of salt...just my 2 cents. Have a great time! m~
  18. He had a couple years with the Cards that started off similar and then took a trip south in a hurry. I think he's a first half pitcher...plus two (I think) of his wins this year have come against the Cards who are not really swinging the stick at this point! m~
  19. I picked it up at Half Priced Books for about $3.00, haven't read it yet....on the list!
  20. Say Hello to Everett, great guy and what a voice!!! He's an Indy guy...see him all the time! Wish I could make it in to see your band! I will be in on the 18th to see the Mingus Epitapt show @ the CSO. m~
  21. Pretty nice line-up. ....recently saw Freddy Cole and while not Nat, he was very good....Lonnie smokes!!!! m~
  22. ...at least McGwire was s home run hitter from the git go....49 as a rookie when he was slim and trim...~
