  3. How was the Mahogany & Holloway show??? Know nothing of Mahogany's music but love Holloway. Going to see them this Saturday night. m~ It's hard to get my mind around it after the loud rock music last night, but I had a good time. I would have rather seen a Red Holloway show without a vocalist, but I enjoyed the opportunity to see him perform. Sorry if I am not more help. That's what I'm think, really just going to get some photographs of Red! Thanks, m~
  4. ...that's my favorite statement.....! What is a "normal" bear??? m~
  5. How was the Mahogany & Holloway show??? Know nothing of Mahogany's music but love Holloway. Going to see them this Saturday night. m~

  15. I've talked with Bobby Broom a couple time about this one (Bobby is the guitarist on board for this recording)....sounds like it should be a good one. m~
  16. I had a chance to go over to the Stone with Henry Grimes & Margaret while in nyc in early June but had too many other things lines up....hear it's a great place to go....maybe next time. Henry is a great guy and not to be missed. m~
  17. ...he was probably busy eating a sammich!
  18. Just curious, did you mean Freddie Redd or Sonny Redd, the composer of "Mustang"? ...my goof , you are correct....it's Sonny~~~ m~
  19. I went to see/meet/photograph Donald Byrd a couple years ago in Detroit. I asked him to sign my copy of Mustang and he wrote "For Freddie Redd, Donald Byrd" on it. When I asked him what it meant, he said that he used to joke with Freddie that one day he (Donald) would have a shiny, red Mustang! m!
  20. Larry, I understand that he doesn't come around, just pointing out if this is the case, better to not say anything....especially if there are cameras/mics around.....Ozzie was an idiot in this case.....Mariotti appears to be an idiot as well. m~
  21. I'm guessing that's a screw-up. I believe "Hard Work" is John Handy's hit. No clue who does the late 60s "Stolen Moments". There is also a single "Best of Impulse Records" CD that has those tracks (correctly) listed as "Stolen Moments - Oliver Nelson" and "Hard Work - John Handy". Interestingly, this single CD is available from CD Universe for $3.49 (list price is $4.98). ...available at Borders as well.....but $4.98. m~
  22. ...Im sure this doesn't justify calling him "fag"???? At least do it to the guy's face, up close and personal with no cameras/mics around~ m~
  23. ...saw him in Chicago on 4/28...first time in the city for 25-30 years! m~
