  1. I paid $120 for a Larry Young lp set last year. I bought it at a brick and mortar store. My heart raced when I saw the set in the New Arrivals bin. I was in need of an oxygen bottle when I saw the price.......
  2. Maybe almost all of them e-bay nowadays? I am having to seriously downsize my collection but I won't be getting rid of any of my Mosaic sets. I could keep just those and be happy for years.
  3. Both have sealed cds. Bought by yours truly in order to make a buck but I have decided to sell them for the original price plus Mosaic's shipping charge plus the cost to ship them to you by Priority Mail with Insurance. Blue Mitchell cd set $72 plus shipping w/insurance Tristano/konitz/Marsh $104 plus shipping w/ insurance Pay Pal payments must add the fees charged to me
  4. www.wwoz.org is spinnin Ray right now if ya need an assist.
  5. May wanna mention that it includes a track not on the cd.
  6. Actually, the cover pic you posted is the one only used for the cd. The lp cover is completely different. It's a must have IMO. I have only seen it once and I snapped it up quick. I think I paid something like 2.99 for the lp.
  7. have you tried the Wesleyan page? http://www.wesleyan.edu/perl/ldap.pl/facstaff
  8. anyone going? I'll be at a few of the shows and bumming around NYC in general.
  9. fry them bad boys. get some fish fry and use an egg, milk wash.
  10. sad news. I'll raise one in his honor this evening. RIP
  11. FWIW, the lp's are almost always missing tracks. Not just alternate takes either.
  12. Hearing that band live vs on cd's is a huge difference. Especially with Billy Kilson....
  13. Priester was indeed great but I think it is unjust to not take a look at the growth of Robin Eubanks as a trombonist and a composer since joining the Holland Quintet. He just gets better and better. That whole group operates like a fine tuned machine and Robin is an integral part of it.
  14. For the record, I stated that the used cd I was selling did not have the Obi due to it being smoked. It was mainly a poke at the obsession some collectors have with having every last scrap of something. I'll never forget someone backing out of a trade because I didn't have the OBI. But getting back to that administrator.... Sounds like they have too much time on their hands.....
  15. These four will satisfy everyone but the completist.
  16. anyone seen one of these lately?
  17. Another important piece of the puzzle!!!
  18. How long does it take to test play 33 box sets and 654 cd's?
  19. check out Rowles on Grand Paws and Paws That Refresh if you dig his singing.
  20. There's also Horos under both Adam's and Pullen's names as well. All three include Pullen, Adams and Richmond, among others. All were titled "Jazz A Confronto". Adams also did another LP for Horo titled "Suite For Swingers" on which Pullen appeared. Really looking forward to this set even though I likely have it all, unless there's unrelease stuff included. If nothing else the sound will likely be much improved. and there is a solo Pullen date on Horo. Five to Go.
  21. some more to check out: Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog Vella Dry Monterey Jack Shropshire Blue Cabrales Stilton Great Hill Blue
