  1. Why? Those titles were never mixed to mono. What would be the purpose of revising them 40 years later and creating a new mono version when none existed originally? To charge more money for them, of course. NEVER BEFORE ISSUED!!!
  2. I'm surprised they didn't make mono versions of Abbey Road & Let It Be to make it a full set.
  3. I was just re-reading this book which has a chapter about him. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/087930616...ing%20strangers
  4. I forgot to mention this; I got to see Jandek play in Chapel hill, NC in February. It was pretty good. The drummer made the first song absolutely fucking fantastic. The bass player was someone whom I've met as she's in a band around here in Durham. The keyboard player was a guy from The Mountain Goats who I've never listened to. I knew one of the guys promoting it and was hanging out after the show, saw Sterling Smith chatting with people & walked over to chat for a bit. He recognized my name as we had a few phone conversations. Though I still have no interest in buying anymore of his albums, I will buy this show when it comes out which would be in a few years I'm guessing. For me, his artwork works every time, but not his music. I still like his earlier sound than the more recent sound of anything past 2002.

  6. Don't forget Lennon was an art student. He may not have done stuff like Yoko's at that time, but artist progress & change. He was always someone who rebelled against something & Yoko help fit that bill & brought it out more. He was tired of being a Beatle and I think Yoko helped him break that and redefine himself in his eyes & the eyes of the world. I also think he used Yoko to say to the other Beatles, "I'm done being a Beatle, but am too scared to leave right now." It's all he knew in his whole adult life. Lennon wanted to leave before Yoko ever showed up. I read it was around Help!; mid 1965. He started to lay low leadership-wise & let whatever happened happen. Then he meets Yoko, they get together in 1968, and his leader personality comes roaring back on The White Album. That was his last try at it. In 1969, he was moving towards leaving & wasn't there as much creatively.
  7. When I started to buy jazz, I bought box sets & made the original album order of all the albums on them since I listened to cassette in my car. I went to Amazon a lot and looked them up. Stuck respective extra tracks at the end if they fit.
  8. My favorite Lennon solo album is the 2nd album of Some Time In New York City. I love that album.
  9. I'm sorry but that is insane, how have you managed that and more importantly why? I can top that, I've not only seen every episode in prime time, I've taped them all too. Still am.
  10. I don't have much to say lately. That goes for any message board I frequent.

  15. Non Jazz-The Rolling Stones-Got Live If You Want It-2 songs; That's How Strong My Love Is & Fortune Teller are studio recordings.
  16. I can not believe The Beatles didn't record it for their album Please Please Me. They were playing it at that time. That's up there with Leave My Kitten Alone.
  17. Alive & Well & Living In is the one added on the remaster.
  18. Has anyone read the book Can't Buy Me Love? I think the author likes the sound of his own voice. Some good sociological stuff in there.
  19. When is later? When they're dead or after we're all dead?
  20. It seems no one person or group is a pioneer/creator, but people pick up strands of things that have not been put together yet & put them together. It also seems that new styles are reactions to what preceded it; taking elements & bringing them to the fore, or doing the opposite of a previous style.
  21. None of those people are pioneers, but catalysts? Who's a pioneer & why? I thought JSngry's post on drum & bass traced back to On The Corner pretty interesting, but he's not called a pioneer of it? Or is he? What constitutes it? (Insert another word if pioneer isn't liked)
