  1. No choice now but to cut down on some of your jeepin' SS.
  2. I bought this box set w/o a booklet. I don't know if it came with one orginially or not. I assume it did. The music is outstanding and the live recording is very good. Box and cds are in great shape! I need the cash for something else. $50 postage paid to an American address. 8 cds in the box. Paypal works. Can accept other forms of payment, but, please, no marbles, lady bugs or hermit crab shells.
  3. Don't delete the thread!! We need to be reminded that there is a cost to keeping this forum.
  4. You serious about that dental bill? Maybe those 6-month checkups are worth it afterall. Tell the dentist he can go fund his next BMW purchase some other way....
  5. I'm hurting for money as well, but I love that live chat feature, and it's worth paying for!
  6. I caught a couple of them, but can't allow myself to spend the entire day in front of the TV. Any episode without Fred (such as the Grady episodes) is not nearly as good.
  7. I'll buy some only if they are being loaded on your i-pod and kept there after you sell them!
  8. Went to see Frank Morgan playing along the Murphy's house band. Frank looked frail and sat down the entire show. He still had some good licks, and I chatted with him for a little bit; got him to sign one of his cds for me. They played a lot of Charlie Parker tunes, such as "Scrapple from the Apple," and "Now's the Time." They also played another couple of bebop tunes--I forget the titles. "All the Things you ARe," was played along with Miles Davis' "All Blues." I was pretty impressed with pianist, Claude Black. The old dude can play well. Overall, it was a geriatric crowd on stage. Aside from the drummer who was a young man, the others were all over 60 years old. Those old dudes can still swing! Fathead Newman is up next at the end of the month. Vibist Steve Hobbs is in town next week.
  9. I've already got all of the sessions either on domestic or Japanese versions. Probably won't upgrade many, but I do believe the domestic recording of "Here to Stay" could do a makover. Here we go again with an RVGs of Conn titles: Congregation and "It Might as Well be Spring." I've got a JRVG of the latter, so won't buy the RVG; but "Congregation" definitely needed some RVG treatment. I'll upgrade that one. Happy enough with all the others, though I might buy the "Demon Dance" to compare it with my JRVG.
  10. Fathead Newman will be playing in Toledo on April 1st at Murphy's; and he'll be at the Firefly in Ann Arbor the day before (March 31st.) I'll let you know how the show goes, Stitt!
  11. Just purchased 3 tickets to the 8:00 show. Frank will be at the Firefly in Ann Arbor on Friday as well. Looking forward to the show!
  12. The Patriots always play the waiting game when it comes to free agency. It's tough on the fans... :bwallace2:
  13. I'll make April's gig in Ann Arbor.
  14. So how was the show last night? I was unable to make it, but my friend Brian went with his girlfiriend. What tunes were played; and did you guys record it?
  15. He's scheduled for this Wednesday evening for two shows: 8:00 and 10:00.
  16. JC has one of the alltime greatest Organissimo sobriquettes. Haven't heard from him in a while. Didn't he join the military? Hope he's okay.
  17. At Free's age, you have to post pics of 55-year old babes! Happy Birthday to a guy who is a fun hang on Live chat. His life is comfortable and it shows!
  18. Yeah, you did a lot of Moose hootin' and hollerin' in your day!
  19. Patriots will lose some players to teams led by Belichick's former assistants. Case in point will be Cleveland and Romeo Crennel. Look for them to make big offers for Willy McGinnest and David Givens. My only hope is that the Browns will focus more on Trevor Pryce, while Willie can re-sign w/ the Pats. Don't know if Mangini and the Jets are in a position to chase anybody with their screwed up finances. NFL network says that the Vikes have already worked out a trade agreement to ship Culpepper. They did not mention the team, but it's not Oakland! Could it be Miami?
  20. I've got the "Turrentine/Hubbard: In Concert" CTI on cd. Sounds fine to me, though I haven't heard it in a long time, and should listen to it again.
  21. My assumption is that he will be accompanying Murphy's house band, w/ Claude Black on piano. Can't name the others. He's doing two shows (8:00 and 10:00)
  22. I'm not a huge Frank Morgan fan, but I do own a couple of his cds. I'd go if someone else was interested. It's a work night...
  23. I copped a few cigs from my Dad's packs when I was a kid, but never inhaled. After about three of them, I was done. Never touched em since. Now if I could only quit drinking beer!
