  1. Not one of my faves. I'm not a huge fan of the Lonnie/Kudo period. Pretty low on the Lonnie list for me, but others may differ. ← On the other hand, I very much find this one a keeper. "Mama Wailer" is a great tune. Pick it up, SS1.
  2. Did you get mine, Chris? I'm hoping you can stop by in Toledo on the way...
  3. How about "Seasons in the Sun?" I hear it everytime they advertise those multi-disc collection of oldies on TV.
  4. Watch it.....you know how sensitive I can be . ← Shucks, Mark, I doubt it if you ever chased anyone away.
  5. When they going to start exporting that stuff?
  6. I go with the theory that Mark S. chased AB away!
  7. Nice to see Rocky posting again...
  8. I love the counterfeit Sapporo that is brewed in Canada also. The Foster's is also fine with me. Price isn't bad. Lately, Kroger has been selling Stella Artois for $6.99 for six. Not too bad...
  9. I'm with you all the way, Barak. Been drinking lots of Bavik lately. (I can't post pics.)
  10. Sorry, Chuck. A lot of my dumb jokes backfire. Shit, I can't finance my own projects! ←
  11. I know this is scheduled to be RVG'd later in the year, but perhaps someone wants the Conn version with booklet and pictures... $11 postage paid to US address paypal preferred.
  12. as long as my name's ahead of Chuck's...
  13. Those Mekhong catfish are huge. I've seen many pictures of big ones in the Bangkok Post in my day... That river is so filthy...I tell you. The fish probably grows on garbage.
  14. I didn't follow the draft. Who did the Pistons get, Jim? And what are his prospects?
  15. I agree with Marcus. Happy Birthday!
  16. William Manchester's "Goodbye Darkness," and "American Caesar" serve as great overviews of the Pacific front. Good writing too.
  17. Yes, I give a big thumbs up to THE WORLD AT WAR series as well. You know, Ghost, I couldn't finish a book on Ernie Pyle's WWII journalism, which was highly regarded at the time. I dunno. I guess I don't care for war journalism.
  18. Don't you think it would be better to look for books focusing on different aspects of WWII? There are books dealing with individual battles, or soldiers, or political decisions. Bookstores have shelves and shelves of stuff on WWII. It's a broad subject. I like Carlo D'este's books on WWII. David Irving's "The War Between the Generals" can be quite entertaining. There's a ton of books on the naval battles as well.
  19. I really like Groove Holme's "Night Glider," "Spicy," "Hot Tat," "Blues All Day Long," "Misty," and "Blue Groove." "After Hours" is reallly good too. Charles Earland's best cd is "Intensity." I really like "Front Burner" as a later effort as well. Jack McDuff's collaboration with Fathead Newman called "Double barrelled Soul" is outstanding. It might be his best. Prestige/Fantasy has reissued a lot of good McDuff dates as well. The two best Don Patterson's aside from the aforementioned, "Genius of the B-3" is "Dem New York Dues" and "Boppin' & Burnin'" You can't miss out on Big John Patton either. Just get the Mosaic select along with "Got a Good thing Goin." And how about Reuben Wilson and Lonnie Smith. My favorite Lonnie Smith is "Move Your Hand." I also like "Think" and "Turning Point." Wilson's "Love Bug" is a classic groove date. Then there's Freddie Roach and Leon Spencer...
  20. Mine's signed and worth more! (Of course, I played the crap out of it, and it shows some wear...)
  21. Why, don't you have a photo of that grand moment all prepared for your new signature or avatar? Ready for the Browns, now SS1?
  22. Spurs proved to be the better team in the end. Duncan and Ginobili were unstoppable. They should have shared MVP honors. Spurs were struggling a bit in the third quarter and they started throwing it in to their bread-and-butter guy, Duncan. These two are great players, and the Pistons couldn't stop them when it mattered. Ginobili caused trouble with his shooting and slashing. Pistons need to add another guy for next year. They need another scorer. I'm still pissed over Danko, Darko, Stanko, whatever his name is...
  23. Your sig. photo is old too. Don't you know that a scene from an old NBA game is as topical as a 20-year old newspaper? But the NFL...
