  1. NFL teams should ban all players from riding motorcycles.
  2. That should keep him busy. The media reported that Cabrera smoked 7-10 small cigarettes during play to "calm his nerves."
  3. I forgot, was he a Browns' draftee?
  4. This is a terrific cd. First time I ever heard Mike Lawrence. Joe H. is in my top 5....easy!
  5. 13 I brushed through them and quite frankly had no idea as I selected. It seemed a crap shoot.
  6. Tiger played a pretty good round of golf today considering the course difficulties, but Cabrera played a little better. I'm sure the second place hurts, but how many times did Jack finish second? If Tiger is to break Jack's record--and he looks a lock to do it--there will be quite a few agonizing second places experienced along the way. Wonder if a new generation of golfer will take up smoking after watching Cabrera today.
  7. I don't get it. We're less than a month from minicamps and no one from the Browns has blown out an ACL yet.
  8. I'll pass for now, and wait for a legitimate copy to be issued. I don't care for costly needledrop stuff. Sure wish the US labels would get around to reissuing some grease though. It seems they are all wrapped up in repackaging stuff that has already been around for ages.
  9. Well, I think the article hints at how this could become a big deal. The people that are betting on the market are also those that are more politically empowered -- the middle classes in the big coastal cities. If they lose their shirts, they're going to be pissed, and things may get uncomfortable for the government. Guy So what's the longterm effect?
  10. Now that the NBA season is over, can we get back to NFL talk?
  11. Yes, and the whole damned batch is good. I bought all of the new Conns and think it's a terrific set of issues. My fav. is probably the Kenny Cox. The Frank Foster is definitely worth owning. Happy enough with the Hill and the JOS. Haven't yet listened to Stanley, and that's because I already know in advance I'll like it! Stanley can't go wrong in my book. SS1 says I should go pick up the Max Roach Mosaic. I've already spent all my money on these Conns!
  12. I second this comment. It's a great two-cd set, and it appears to be readily available at a decent price. "Love Dance" (the first cd) might be one of Woody's greatest albums.
  13. Not bad. What's that instrument?
  14. A stockmarket crash in China wouldn't likely lead to any longterm damage, but it would sure hurt a lot of people in the short run. Every stock market bubble burst tends to hurt the investor "newbies." They lose a lot owing to dumb overexposure, and they will often swear off the stock market forever afterwards, even though stock market investments are hard to beat over the long run. A Chinese crash would lead to some kind of shorterm residual effect in America, I think.
  15. Moss is the big name, but the guy who will get all the catches will be Wes Welker, the "slot" receiver. He's had the most impressive camp of all. Don't know how much Moss has left in the tank, but we'll have him for only one year. He's signed for 2007-08 only, so he'll be gone next year. Stallworth has at least a couple of years on his contract, though his pay jumps next year. I'm really high on Welker. He will be the underneath thread along with TE Ben Watson and Dave Thomas. On paper, the offense looks incredible. Can't wait!
  16. The defence is pretty good too. I believe they were #2 in the entire league last year in yielding the fewest points. The defensive front line of Seymour, Ty Warren and Vince Wilfork is amongst the best in the league. Backup lineman Jarvis Green would likely be a starter on several clubs. The linebacker corps is somewhat aged, with Teddy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Roosevelt Colvin and Adalius Thomas, but the addition of Thomas is a huge boost. Junior Seau has re-signed with the club. He's another aged linebacker. Secondary is deep and solid if not spectatucular. Asante Samuel is a holdout and we don't know what will happen there. Rodney Harrison is terrific but he's also 34 years old. Preseason camp reports have been glowing about Rodney. Eugene Wilson is okay as a Free Safety; Ellis HObbs shows a lot of promise at corner. We've also got veterans Chad Scott and Torey James as backups. Then there's Randall Gay, who started in the Superbowl a couple years back but was on injured reserve over the last couple of seasons. There are some questions, but it's a pretty good defence. Looks like the offense will be piling up lots of points, so the defence can focus on pass rushing and sacks and interceptions. It will be fun to play defence for a team like that.
  17. Bad sound? I don't hear that from the Select at all.... Considering what you have already the Select will really fill a lot of holes for you. The Way I Feel, Oh Baby, That Certain Feeling and Understanding. DUDE, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR. YOU'RE THE PERFECT CANDIDATE TO GET THE SELECT! You're really missing out on some GREAT music right now. Try to contain yourself, SS.
  18. If both start showing up for practice with powdered lips, then I'm officially concerned.
  19. I picked up JOS, "Straight Life" today and it sounds fine. I've only listened to 1/2 of the cd, but it's a keeper in my book. I'm really surprised at Soul Stream's negative review. Normally he gives high ratings for just about everything, but there was no need to pan this cd. I'm happy with it.
  20. The media likes to compare the Spurs to the NE Patriots. Both are well run organizations and just seem to WIN. I saw parts of the game last night. Damn, football is a lot more interesting! Spurs seem to play boring fundamental ball. That's the kind of stuff that leads to wins. Cavs have their hands full.
  21. bullshit list. Jackie Mac should be tops.
  22. Randy and Tom are going to be best buddies!
