  1. Wait till you hear about the contract! 1 yr contract at $3 mil. plus $2 mil in incentives. Can you say "steal?"
  2. From your mouth to Concord's ears. Ron is ready to go again! Let's joint venture again. Sure! all we need is a sale!
  3. From your mouth to Concord's ears. Ron is ready to go again!
  4. yep! cool shirt!!! JB I bet Chuck had that shirt back in the day!
  5. Did something happen to him?
  6. House of the Steel Curtain is in apparent disarray right now. Pro Bowl OL Faneca skipped the first camp and doesn't want to show up until his contract is adjusted. He feels he's underpaid. In the meantime, rumors have it that Big Ben isn't happy with new Head Coach Tomlin. Ben wants to be featured in the offense, while Tomlin is promoting a smash mouth run-it-down-your-throat style of ball. Ben has a reputation for being difficult. Cowher didn't want to handle another season with him, and former O-coordinator, Whisenhunt didn't want to be involved. Same with Russ Grimm, former OL coach who went off to another team. Big Ben is full of himself. There are stories of how he and Randle El had developed their own private play book w/o Cowher's knowledge. He better get himself together because he sucked last year. Troy Polamalou was apparently disconsolate over Cowher's departure as well. It looks like a tough season for a team that is usually pretty solid.
  7. Romeo will likely stick around which means that cowhead becomes GM!
  8. Patriots are the only team with two first round picks this year. I'm going to be glued to the TV all weekend during the NFL draft broadcast.
  9. I just ordered it via the Amazon link on Organissimo. Taking you guys' advice. That Melvin Sparks looks good too.
  10. This is the cd I recently picked up. (through Amazon via the Organissimo link, of course!) Interesting how there's a different spelling of his first name, but the sound is great!
  11. I think that's one of the most insightful statements I've every heard about Patton. You really nailed it in two sentences. Agree. BJP is special in this way.
  12. I don't think the above comments are unreasonable. Chuck could come down a lot harder if he wished. His is a fair comment. btw, I rarely use the search function.
  13. He must be Joe's brother because he comes out smokin'!
  14. I found it very painful to listen to the voice mail. Very painful. I cringed. (Boy, he's hardly articulate, is he?) I also say we need to hear the full story before resting on a final judgement. At the same time, I sure hope I've never yelled like that to my kid. I just call him "moron!" (He is one sometimes....) Wait till he gets older and calls me a moron. (I am one sometimes....)
  15. Think over your options and good luck, Dan. That snot nosed kid who pulled your legs wasn't Chuck was it?
  16. Tell us how it goes. Good luck!
  17. Yes, all the paranoid-schizos out there can now view their anti-hero par excellance as he becomes the media darling. Now that's somebody who has acheived a status worth aspiring towards....
  18. It would certainly be a start. It's interesting that the news media castigates the police and University officials for not taking greater action on the perceived thread from Cho. Anyone who has had any insight into stalkers knows that the police request that the woman maintain a log first so as to write down the pattern of abuse. In the meantime, there is little protection if the stalker decides to physically harm her. Police have to be aware of individual rights, so there is little they can do until something actually happens. It blows me away that no one on the media has suggested that there be a mandatory report to gunsellers whenever someone is charged with stalking (as Cho was twice,) or was commited to a mental institution. The law does not allow any forced mental incarceration beyond 72 hours. But surely there could be a mandatory report to all gunsellers whenever someone is committed to a mental institute. Now how difficult would that be?
  19. Yeah, we prohibit murder and rape and theft, etc. I understand your argument in principle, but we cannot disassociate handguns/automatic weapons from it's designed use, which is to shoot somebody (self defence or otherwise.) There is little chance for recovery after being shot, unlike recovering from being drunk or getting stoned. You cannot compare the two. I actually support the legalization of some drugs (like marijuana.) I generally favor keeping the government out of regulating our lives; but this gun issue is something else. In a multiracial, heterogenous, dynamic, imbalanced, and free society such as ours, allowing people to own handguns is a recipe for disaster. I am definitely of the opinion that nuts like this guy would somehow be able to get hold of some kind of weapon, but single murders are committed daily in this country by readily available handguns. We need to ban the suckers.
  20. That is the same mindset that the alcohol prohibitionists took, too. Some, indeed, are: I guess I have been using mine improperly, then. I don't think you can compare the two situations. Alcohol is a lot easier to make illegally than a gun is to build. I also think that Prohibition didn't have people's full support. Might be different with gun control. People might miss the weekly (and daily?) use of alcohol. You don't use your guns every day (or at least I hope not.) Different thing altogether.
