  1. It's a great session. I've got it on JRVG mini-lp. Had the domestic version years ago and "upgraded."
  2. Jul 21, 2006 4:00PM Confiscated by custom's Officer Conn 500.
  3. Hopefully, not the 7 you were planning to keep.
  4. "Hitchhiker" is a real classic. "I believe, you're going my way?"
  5. What a brilliant yet simple observation!
  6. Oh sh** ! According to company shipping records, yours is now sitting in the lobby of a small apt. bldg in a place called Beirut. A shame there wasn't an Evans steel Verve box in there to deflect the the mortar fragment, but I'm sure it's not a total loss. Perhaps you can go retrieve it over the weekend?
  7. And there was a beautiful story told in a tender way like "Walking Distance" or "Stop at Willoughby" or "Something in the Night." This one is called "Kick the Can" and deals with the elderly in an old folk's home. It's a beautiful story, and I won't spoil it by telling you what happens; but it shows Rod's tender side as in the above mentioned episodes. Amazing that he had such sensitivity for the elderly in their group homes back in 1962 like that. Actually, Rod didn't write the story. I forgot who did, but it is a beautiful episode.
  8. Great episode and one of my favs. too. Lot of autobiographical commentary on "Stop at Willoughby" Serling was overworked and stressed. I saw a few TZs last night. I really enjoyed "Dead Man's Shoes." A body is dumped in an alley. A homeless guy takes off the snazzy pair of shoes from the body, puts them on, and becomes transformed in such a way that he takes on characteristics of the dead man. He then goes out to avenge the murder. In the end, after taking out one of the gangmembers, he too is shot. With dying breath he says, "I'm gonna be back. I'm gonna keep coming back. I'm coming back till I get you, Johnny!" The body is dumped in the alley and another homeless person takes the shoes.
  9. Wow! Good news. Someone got theirs.
  10. Did someone mention the Twilight Zone?? That demands another thread, Jazz Oscar. In fact, put on a search, and I think you'll find that I started one up years ago...
  11. Thanks for the moving obituary, Kevin. You have my deepest condolences and, yes, it also makes me appreciate my father for who he is.
  12. Yes, whenever I'm in a bad mood, everything sounds bad. When I'm happy, everything sounds good.
  13. Maybe they've hired some temp workers in order to handle the extra Organissimo orders.
  14. Lot of love shown for Free on this thread. I think it's time to revive the Happy Birthday Free thread once again.
  15. I ordered the Trane box set last night (effectively received this morning when their offices reopened.) I received shipping confirmation for 7/21/06. In the meantime, there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the email stating that some items might be out of stock. So unless you have actually received the item, I wouldn't necessarily assume that it will be shipped even if you have a shipping confirmation. How can they confirm a shipping confirmation for 7/21 when that is two days away?
  16. Sounds like you had an imposter. Yes, I say you replay the video camera tapes.
  17. I just got a second shipping confirmation for the Coltrane box, saying it's shipped, but the ship date is blank. Fingers are crossed. Keeping the suspense going....
  18. Beer! Free's a strict Rum & Coke man.
  19. Damn, you spent some coin.
  20. Well, I obviously won't get my Coltrane box since I only placed the order last night. Saves me $$$. No need to be upset.
  21. On Conn 500's recommendation. Great choice, Joe. This is our very own Free For All; and it's an excellent session. More people need to know about this cd. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on it, Joe.
  22. Yeah, my credit card owes you....
