  1. Too bad Jim and Organissimo doesn't get some kind of kickback for all the tremendous business generated from this thread. Why don't you email them, Jim? Might not hurt to ask. I haven't yet ordered. Might go in with someone on a mega deal. Need to talk to my broke brothers....
  2. I'm one of them I was banned as a result of our, well, let's call it a collision. No problem. Unless he missed me, I'm the other one. In honor of another person banned from the Org and AAJ (DEEP): Hans, CLASP! imagine that, why would anyone ban Dan. (Sorry, Dan, but that was good!)
  3. Can't wait for training camp to begin. Pats still have $15 mil in cap room, and their free agency hunt has just begun. It'll be interesting to see who they'll pick up. Ty Law remains in the mix, but I'm sure they've got their eyes on some bargain people.
  4. Getting old! Happy Birthday!
  5. I'm with Nojjy on this one. I see the athleticism and the precision with the football. The low number of scores relative to many American sports only adds to the excitement and sense of accomplishment once one is attained.
  6. Thank God for the news. Cleveland has lost enough over the years. They had to empty their pockets in order to keep LBJ.
  7. I didn't catch the whole match, but I did see parts of each half, and I did see the PK shootout. Congrats to the Azzurri! They happen to be my favorite team each WC (My Mom came from Italy), and it's nice to see them finally win a WC through PKs. I didn't see the Zidane penalty. I had some errands to run....
  8. This is one of my MD favorite recordings: Hank Mobley, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers & Jimmy Cobb. If you dont have it in your collection, dont hasitate. 20$ for 4 CDs.... You got THAT right! BTW, take5, Eric wanted me to inform you that he has moved and has asked me to tell you to send the Mobley Mosaic to his new DFW address. (He has no internet connection right now, something about him being "tied up" at the moment). PM me and I'll send it along! Hey, I'm next in line!
  9. Damn right. What's the point of owning 50 Tony Gwinn cards and NO Jazztet box?
  10. "Wahoo" is simply one of the greatest BN hard bop sessions ever produced. It doesn't get any better as far as the genre is concerned, IMHO.
  11. I wonder what kind of physical damaged Kobe inflicts on himself during these contests (or even while training.) Man, that looks like a strain on the system. When does NFL start? (SS1 is desperate for sports--needs some major action now that NBA is over and Tiger's got his mind on his woman and his family)
  12. The Kirk is a goodun! Somebody should grab that Miles box as well.
  13. Maintain hope, David. We've lost cats for longer than a day; some came back (healthy or injured,) others never returned. I bet the fireworks scared her bigtime. I know the suffering you both are undergoing, as I stress out if any of my cats stay out too late at night. Also be sure to check if any of your neighbors have sheds with room underneath for cats. Those places seem popular with my pets, especially when scared. Keep us posted....
  14. Sorry to hear the news, Mark.
  15. Agree with Hans on this. I sold my cd to someone on this board. I sold my Art Farmer stuff in order to buy the Mosaic. I know it's expensive, but it might be the best way to go. "Big City Sounds" is great, btw.
  16. Allow me to remind some of you of this also.... Chewy posts his puerile crap and nobody says anything. We all leave him alone. But when he has the effrontery to publicly ask for cd-rs; or even has the gall to post on the offering/looking for section that's when we jump on him. Mark Sheldon trades a lot of cds here as well. He had every right to comment on Chewy's commercial integrity. I do the same. We have no ebay feedback system here. It's all a matter of commercial honor. I will vigorously protest any request on this part of the forum from anyone with stained commercial integrity. Let Chewy post his crap on other threads. I'll happily ignore him on those, as I have been doing. This is not persecution, guys; this is public policing of trading integrity on this section of the board.
  17. I don't understand why Couw feels the need to defend this guy. He cheated another board member. To me, that calls for virtual banishment in itself, not to mention all the other offensive tactics. I'd be livid if I got cheated by a board member; and would remind others of this fact. Trust is everything on this board, and I buy and sell a lot of stuff here. Well, to be honest, it gets a little annoying. Guy What gets annoying? The cheating? Or the constant puerile chatter from this man? No, what bothers Guy is the perpetual calling him out on the cheating and puerile chatter. What bothers me besides the cheating and the puerile chatter is the obvious dumbing-down of the board resulting from all this. It is of importance to all of us. Just that stupid name, "Chewy-Chew....whatever" serves to demean the board. I realize public fora will attract all types, but this guy/kid wore out his welcome already, and took a second chance. How is it annoying to jump on him for publicly requesting a cd-r? Of course his checkered past regarding cheating a board member is inevitably brought up as well. That's the way it goes when you cheat others and develop a bad reputation. I have made sales and trades with SS1; and, of course, I also know him fairly well. He is not a cheater or "shady."

  19. Congratulations Chuck and Ann! I've had the pleasure of meeting Ann a couple of times, though I can't say I know her very well. Initial impressions reveal an easygoing and well-balanced person, comfortable in her own skin. Chuck, on the other hand, is a real crank!
