  1. Is this the first time they’re doing twice a year?
  2. Here is a list of releases for the upcoming Record Store Day on Black Friday. Record Store Day Releases Looks like releases intended to appeal to every taste and genre.
  3. By not saving Verlander for game 5 and thus not being able to use Cole in game 1, they’ve definitely accomplished that.
  4. The only Supersax I have is Stonebird, which I found in a used bin for a couple of bucks. I thought the arrangements were great and they really swing.
  5. Different tastes I suppose but Keep on Choogling and Susie Q are the highlights of their set. The band takes it up a notch on these last two. The crowd reaction is off the charts.
  6. Is it effective?
  7. I finished listening just now and went back and listened to Green River on the 10cd set. The sound on the CCR disc seems sharper than the sound on the 10cd set. Aside from the sound, what the 10cd set lacks that the single disc has are incredible extended performances of Keep on Choogling and Susie Q. They’re worth the price of the disc. You can tell (and feel) the effect that Keep on Choogling had on the crowd. It was electric.
  8. I saw a video where the person said the same thing about the new ones. I think mine goes back to around 2002 or 2003.
  9. Great, although the sound may be a lithe better on the 10cd set (but I haven’t done a comparison).
  10. That looks like a SpinClean. I will be interested in hearing your comments.
  11. The problem I find with threads like this is that you get many suggested solutions but no clear answer. I asked this question to my local record store owner and he likes washing it in the sink solution.
  12. This quote from the article expresses the problem with society today, an attitude that can be summed up as “I can do anything I want.” Really sad. “One dissenter argued on Twitter that “people who wholly submit to and enforce outdated/archaic concert rituals that require insane amounts of cultural capital to begin with are going to be completely irrelevant in about 15 years’ time.”
  13. Mexico. They closed the Chicago facility in 2003. Shame as I knew some of the people there.
  14. I thought this discussion on the Hoffman Forum might be of interest. As with anything, you get a variety of opinions. Cleaning makes my records sound worse and skip!
  15. Accompanying articles by the writer and producer: The Devil and Ginger Baker 'I Owe Him So Much': The Life and Times of Ginger Baker by Jay Bulger
  16. The most recent CCR box set looks to have been a set reissued in 2018, half cd, half LP. May have been reissued for Record Store Day.
  17. I wonder how many people we listen to or sports stars we watch are people we probably wouldn’t want to know or be friends with. Plenty, I’m sure.
  18. I think I purchased one of the Bebop Revisited titles from you.
  19. He claimed he was a jazz drummer and that in Cream they were playing jazz.
  20. New Riders of the Purple Sage
  21. Rolling Stone obituary. Ginger Baker, Cream Co-Founder Who Redefined Rock Drumming, Dead at 80
