  1. Yes, which is why he obviously got hit. I assume Urena will get a fine and asuspension. Generally, batters crowd the plate too much. The pitchers need to do something but batters fly off the handle even if you throw a bit inside. My team has a guy, Brandon Nimmo, who is always crowding the plate and, of course, he gets hit a lot. If pitchers can't pitch inside we're not going to have much of a game left.
  2. What happened to playing baseball the old fashioned way? You can't let hitters get too comfortable up there or they will be teeing off on you all the time. I don't think he had to hit him but moving him back off the plate is acceptable. Otherwise, just put in a batting practice pitcher.

  4. Here's a history of Brach's, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brach%27s It's had an interesting history since the company I used to work for, American Home Products, sold it in 1986 to Jacobs Suchard. It was a fun deal, for sure.
  5. There's one on eBay. Actuallly, there were two but based on Larry's recommendation, I purchased one
  6. True! I wasn’t planning to get this set but if it helps them out I will.
  7. Glad you all liked it. Thought it was a great article. A little ironic, I suppose, that it’s now a high rise.
  8. I don’t understand how you can be pissed off when you know why they’re doing it this way. If there isn’t demand, it obviously wouldn’t make economic sense for them to make it. Moreover, your card won’t be charged at this time.
  9. Coming of Age in the Jazz Loft Scene By Nabil Ayers about his uncle, Alan Braufman, living and playing jazz in the 1970s at 501 Canal Street, in New York, a building that the author says probably should have condemned, and which today is a fancy high rise.
  10. Thanks for that. I will have to pick it up. Didn’t know about the Four Tops. They were one of my favorite groups when I was a kid.
  11. One of my earliest purchases!
  12. I just discovered I had never listened to this It had been lying unopened for 15 years!
  13. Thanks. I thought it was an enlightening article. I liked the part about Sebastian's brother contributing the opening lines. Why would that lead to his being fired? The format or the content. I take it you liked the book.
  14. The Nationals continue to spiral down. There's just something wrong with that team.
  15. Summer in the City: Story of a Song. In yesterday's New York Times The Lovin' Spoonful
  16. Continuing my studies of Spain; the writer is the New York Times correspondent for Spain and Portugal.
  17. They have an 11 game lead over the Astros for the home field. I’d say it’s looking pretty good for them. Speaking of the Phillies, even though I should dislike them, there’s something attractive about this team and I thought they played the Red Sox tougher than the Yankees did. In the NL it’s wide open.
  18. The quote of the day. I’m in that camp as well. Not a big Woody fan, but I bet it goes fast.
  19. Since his middle name was spelled Birks, grammatically if it’s in the possessive, it should be Birks’ as in Birks’ Works. “Birk’s Works” is clearly incorrect.
  20. I noticed the number of copies also. Probably the new Mosaic economic reality.
  21. Under US law, a name like Sun is a trademark, not a copyright. To protect a trademark in a particular country, you need to file a trademark registration with the applicable patent and trademark office. The Sun name, as applied to musical recordings, may be trademarked in the US but that doesn’t mean trademark protection applies to other countries unless there is a trademark registration in that country. Without knowing more, it’s hard to answer the question.
